  1. Have you got to price in the skip? because theres allways loads more soil than you think there will be once its dug out and loose. If theres going to be a lot of soil, more than a six yard skips worth id get a grab lorry in.
  2. It relates to the amount of posts that you have submitted.
  3. Reducing the tree is only going to stress the tree more making it easier for the Amallaria. How vigorous has the tree been this year? Why does he want work done on the tree? To try to prelong it or for more light etc?
  4. Dont go near the screwfix one! My dad baught one, did a few hours work and the pump packed in. Sent him a replacement and it had a broken wheel, they swapped that and he plugged the new one in and didnt work. Got his money back now.
  5. If you do presuade him to remove, you want to get the stump out aswell, less dead wood to feed on!
  6. I think but not 100% sure, drain the petrol out and then run untill it dies.
  7. Id book a short NPTC climbing course with the training (think there done over a week) you will be taught to access the tree safely, you will then find out if you like working at height! If you like it then you can progress into arboriculture with something like the 10 week tree surgery course. PS I have a huge amount of respect for you guy/girls and the job you carry out.
  8. Try DD hire Shepperton, they have a range or grinders. Whats the acsess like?
  9. Had a demo of the greenmech today, what a brilliant machine!!!! The cutter opening is about three times as big as i thought it was going to be, handled the brash well allthough some was a bit alkward to get through (snedded Birch). the quality of the chip was good but the leaves were mainly whole and really through the chip out. SWB. did you know that greenmech are going to produce a shredder casset so that you can swap it with the chipper unit for about £700 All in a good chipper, looking to buy one very soon.
  10. I got a local dealer to order me some fabric off of stihl. £10 for a large peice.
  11. Near Winchester!
  12. I all ways carry a invoce book in the truck so tha when they say can I produce a invoice I go and write them one .
  13. What is the type of fencing being used and how long is the run, have you got to disamntle a existing fence and what is the site like? flowers, shrubs ect ???
  14. Youve got to be carefull with them, Just last week on a site near me a family had a row a one ended up being shot - nearly died and when i worked on the motorway a van pulled in the works hitched up a tower light erect and working and drove off. We chased in a van and called the police who caught up on the M4, pulled them over and found 2 loaded shot guns attached under the bumper.
  15. Should be getting 25m brought back from NZ in Jan.
  16. Do the Tech cert
  17. Have you got any more pics pls Frank? thats a nice truck!
  18. Be carefull if you make a secure cage and keep tools in over night. A firm near me did this, the van was nicken and found cut open minus the tools in a field!
  19. Go for the warn winch if you want it electric, Nene overland or Frogs Island are both very good. If you had the back converted to a tipper it would be small but toeing 3.5t would be no problem as on wet grass etc you can utilise the low range dif lock. If you do get one just make sure the guys know how to use the diff properly as driving off road on dry ground will lead to expensive repairs.
  20. Sorry not sure, mid to end I think.
  21. No one else here it today? The guy Chris was speaking to reckons you can become a tree surgeon in 3 weeks....! BBC iPlayer Console - Chris Evans: 27/08/2009
  22. On deisel engines blank off the EGR like marc said earlier and either get a peice of pipe made up to replace the cat or smash the innards out.
  23. I think that the FC at Alice Holt have an ID service. Im sure I had a form somewhere, fill it in, send the samle off and pay yer money, think it was about £30.
  24. Its not so much a chip that is soildered in any more but remap of the ECU. Van Tuner - Transit Van Tuning This guy is more expensive but he gets exerlent feed back on the transit forum. What ever you do dont touch chipped uk!!!
