  19. My over heads are still the same if im doing hedges or trees so i dont see why i should go out any cheeper for hedges. a day for two or three of us needs to earn an certain amonut what ever. Do you price a day for two guys cheeper hedge cuttiong than a day tree cutting?
  20. Got a hedge job tomorrow, the home owner fell off the ladder a couple of years ago and broke his back and has since had a gardener do it. He wants it cut and for one reason or another the garderer cant do it, so asked me to quote which was more expensive but still got the job.
  21. Hedge, trees, stump gringing what ever the job may be the money has to be the same.
  22. I like hedge cutting and include it in my services, a couple of weels ago i went to look at a hedge that had been cut badly, the lady asked for a price to sort it out. My price turned out to be twice as much as the gardeners and after a think she accepted and was pleased with the finnished job. out of that I have had some stump grinding, took out a load of pyracanther and now have a small copse of sweet chestnut to remove over the winter.
  23. Your right, he did get his job done but not to a verry high standard but I wasnt having him ring me up saying that i was so much more expensive and i should lower my prices. I made it clear that i was happy with my price and and just explainde that both quotes he got couldnt possibly be compared.
  24. He thought the other guy was a "propper" tree surgery company so it then went down the lines of how many companys work the day to earn them selves £60.
  25. By the time i told him daily yard rate, fuel, wages ect i made him realise that he had had a beer money gardener do the hedge a cutting and not a company with overheads ins ect.
