  1. Pommie, you dont have Jauns number by any chance do you? I had it but didnt think I needed it any more and shreded it.
  2. What the hell is a server? Just intrested as computer wise all i know what to do on my computer is to produce quotes on ms word, surf the web and put songs on my ipod, although that took ages to work out. What goes into running a site like this and what makes running things different from having say a site built for a buisness and one where people are writing things on there like this site?
  3. You may need some shims aswell.
  4. Are Charterhouse Richmonds still tradeing? Havent heard of them mentioned.
  5. I was told by both TW and OP that it really is neccacery to have the cover in place aparently it protects the bearings some how baybe just stopping dust and crap getting in there.
  6. Im not so sure if you should silicone that in as the nut needs to turn and will strip out the silicone
  7. How well did that bearing sit in the boss?
  8. I baught two of the small plastic dust caps but i needed the bigger one, they were only about 60p each so no big problem. You can have one if you want.
  9. I know of someone that was having a bad day and his reply to the customer asking for extras was can I have a go on your wife!!!
  10. I think that the tree owners would have to supply a tree report backing up the decay and the affects this may have on the tree and any other problems that may be there. None of my local councils would pay for this!
  11. Im studying for the exams now and am working through my 5837 home work, ive read throught the bs twice now. What sort of things were you guys/girls failing on? What does the 5837 exam consist of and do you have any tips? Thanks.
  12. I had 2 sides made up for mine for £100 a side at a local forge, I gave them my scabbey one and they copied that. I also baught an exhaust and im sure that came from orange plant, they get them from a company called small engine parts i think. If you ring tw they will give you the paint code.
  13. Wazz Nothing that I have said has been exagerated at all, so doing terriers youve never done or been inolved with badger digging no? well it was talked about openly with some of the terriermen and other people i knew, what this dog was for what he had done ect. Most hunts know what any other has done gets up to through the grape vine so im supprised that you didnt here it was about 5 yrs ago. Most of the pups wernt affected apart from pissing on me when i held them by the tattooing but thet happened to the pup i mentioned. But I still think its a bit barbaric and its nothing like an ear pirceing gun and any way people who have there ears pierced have the choice unlike the hounds. Plus i said nearly die we thought we had sost them. When I was involved with the tattooing it was with the masters who cared and it still nearly went wrong. The Guy that pitched forked the hounds was there a couple of years before i started and was told what had happened by the masters.
  14. My spare time in now concerntrated with work/revision for the tech cert and training to become a member of the local search and rescue group.
  15. Long term it did improve things for the hounds, we started off with about 35 couple and over 1 seastn lost 10 couple through fighting in kennels which is partley brought on though bad management and routine and then because the hounds had to move the pack was basicley whittled down, shot at point balnk range between the eyes to a much smaller number and then drafted hounds in from other packs to start a new breeding program. Then you are looking for the right type of hound, not to many bitch pups and any with wonky legs have a swift blow to the head and killed. Also there is the ear tattooing which is basicly a large pair of pliers with metal pads on, to which you put spiked letters/numbers to which corispond to the pack and year born. the set we had the spikes were covered in rust so I had to clean with wire wool and wd40. you then wipe the young pups ear with blue ink and squeeze the handles together untill all points penetrate throught the hounds ear, all this done without any pain relife. I partook in this and have seen small pups go lifeless and nearly die of shock which i regret now. The thing was I started seeing things and in my head i started to question what was going on but then you see somthing a lot worse which makes what you origionly saw seen trivial and on and on it goes. Also since football violance has been clamped down on these thugs have joined hunts and act as 'supivisors' not at all hunts but some. I can garantee that if most people who went on boxingday as something to do saw the real side of hunting they wouldnt like it!
  16. Hi Mark Bolam, I didn't turn my back with out helping as such. It was hard to let people know what was going on as it was a complicated stiuation at the kennels and was surrounded bu a lot of violant people - some of them were part of the chelsie hed hunters so people who are up for a fight and this was talked about openley!! I did blow the whistle which caused a huge bust up. The kennels were shared with another pack and the beagles had to move out. The hounds are now to my knowlege better looked after but all people involved are still in hunt service. Once the whistle was blown so to speak I was threatened with all sorts of violance If i was to turn up at a meet. pro hunters will protect this sport and a sport is all it is its nothing more with there life.
  17. I compleatly agree with killing vermin, if I could have my way id eradicate every grey squirrel from this country and reintroduce our native red. Some things do have to be killed but this must be done humainly! I havent so much as gone to the otherside of the fence as such and become an anit as i have never sabed a hunt. All im trying to say is that the picture seen on boxing day is just a small peice of the hunt world and most people dont get to see the rest which I have given an insite into which quite understanderbly pro hunting people dont like to be heard. Has any body else had any involvement with hunt kennels?
  18. MarK G Vermin needs to be controlled and in a ba;;anced way. So tell me why most of the farmes we hunted on with the Beagles waited for us to have our days hunting on there farm and then and only then have a driven hair shoot! Yep thats vermin controll and in a balanced way!
  19. MarkG - Hipocrit why? Im not stopping any one or telling any one not to go to the boxing day meet or go hunting at all throughout the hunting season at all, If so please point out to me where I have said that. All ive done on here is to give an insite to what goes on inside the kennels and behind closed doors. with the pack I hunted with and packs that were close to us and others I knew. Most people who may go hunting to make up there minds will not go near the kennels except opendays let alone go out and dig out foxs for the next days hunt so how can they make up there minds tell me? all ive done is give my opinion and some inside knowledge which hunts dont want to to be common knowledge... Did I mention the kh who put the beagles down with a pitch fork? not nice eh!! So no anybody on here that is deep into hunting isnt going to be happy with what I have written,
  20. Compleatly right cousain jack, I cant remember the exact figures but there was hundreds more hours spent debating the ban compaired to going to war with Iraq and there were a few mp that retired once the ban had gone through saying that they have done there job. Compleate wast of money!
  21. Na no chip on my shoulder mate, Im just sick and tired of all the hunts saying that they are hunting a scent when its a pack of lies, there is not one hunt in this country that hunts a scent other than a real foxs other than if the antis turn up filming and any body that is involved with hunting knows that I am telling the truth but is obvioully not going to admit it.
  22. Fox blood filled sock...... Utter rubbish! the rag, duster or what ever they are draging around is for show ONLY and a back up story in case the preverbial hits the fan, I should know I did it! Every hunt in England is hunting foxes just the same as they were before the ban accept with some one carting around a bird of prey which is another loophole just incase. Foxe scent is different from fox blood, urine or a dead fox being dragged around and when we tried it the hounds wernt the least bit intrested in it. We killed on the first day of the ban and I know most other packs did aswell, if there big enougth to hunt the should admit it insted of hiding behind lies! It annoys me when people they say there hunting a scent when there not.
  23. Surrey union? I think they meet up at the punchbowl some where!
  24. I have walked away from it and what I have seen and done plays on my mind alot I was in the central core of the hunt and was involved in these things. What does upset me though is on boxing day usssually a lot of people turn up who have never experianced hunting before maybe in too minds of what to make of it. The thing is they are only seeing a thin slice of what hunting is about and what REALLY happenes even a lot of the field who turn out every week in the season have no idear what happens at the kennels or when the fox has gone to ground and when they are moved away by the field master. If it was all done humainly there wouldnt be an argument all im saying is what happenes in a compleatly honest way. Its down to people them selves what they parcipate in butplease when you raise your stirup cup at the meet please give a thought to the treatment to the fox or hare and the hounds
