  1. Just had a thought and wondered what you guys thought! As you all know for a climber to be in a tree you should have someone on the ground with the relevent climbing NPTC tickets. So if the climber who needs rescuing is unconscius and the rescuing groundi/climber leaves the ground that then means that if they dont have another tickited guy on the ground and they then become injured and cant desend, are braking HSE guidlines?
  2. Where abouts are you in ascot?
  3. Sorry.
  4. Hi Lee what site did you find this info on? Might have the day off join them and accidently spill a load of chip in the road!!
  5. Is that mag court 6 points and car confiscated?
  6. I went up to merrist wood this morning for a walk and look around and sore this brachet which had been fenced off (suprised its still there!). It seems to be on the root system of a Walnut.
  7. If you are going on the sea in a kayak not a sit on top you really need a spray deck and there for idearly need to roll. Once you have had the training you have a spectacular coast to explore up there!
  8. Try thr classifides on the river guide forum. Guidebook Community Pages • View forum - Private Sales They also have a sea and surf column which you may find helpfull and also a padderling partners thread so you may find someone in your area prepared to take you out safley. If your going it aloan on the sea allways take a vhf radio.
  9. Nope not in the manual, I tried and it didnt work and I dont really want to keep puting it together and taking it apart to test as ill break something else!
  10. It says in the transit owners manual not to run it on bio.
  11. When I got the saw I had a flick through the manual and dont remember seeing anything like that but ill have a look. Got to find it first though!!
  12. I dropped the saw and broke the stubb off, that the handle that you hold in your left hand when cutting. I ordered one off of Justin and it worked out at about £8 so not bad. Now when I was taking the broken handle off I was being carefull to remember where all the parts were from so that I could put it back together properley with no fuss. But I got distracted as I took the fuel pipes out and now I cant remember where they go. So if any of you guys with a top handle could have a look at there saw and help me out id be really gratefull. Justin was kind enought to send me a exploded diagram but it isnt that clear. Ive numbered the tubes 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and the holea in the handle where the tubes go 4, 5, 6,. If you could tell be where each part goes ill be gratefull.
  13. Ben you should be getting one in a couple of weeks time from nick:wink:
  14. Merrist Wood seems to be trading on its reputation of 20 years ago, unless of course you go into equine.
  15. Hi Tom, When were you at Merrist? you name rings a bell! I have also done my rotator cuff in and the pain has pretty much stoped me climbing anything big.
  16. MorningWood PM me your email and i will send you a set of past papers.
  17. Ben its too late for you mate, the Tech Cert as it it is in its last year of being taught. It will me in a new format for next year with little on no external exams. As far as im aware its marked on course work and in not sure what will happen with the management day.
  18. Yeah, im installing Boa above higher up in the crown but the rods are to go through the week unions to hold them together. The cliant wants to keep the tree at all costs and in a few years time will be retrenched.
  19. I have to rod brace a large oak with three week forkes in it. I looked through the suppliers listings to see if they sell the rod and washers but they only sell eye bolts which are no good. I went to the local forge and ordered 16mm fully threaded bright drawn steel rod and galvanised nuts, As per BS3998 1989 (I know there is a new one out but at the moment I haventgot one to hand and I dont think that it will be that dis-similar) For the washers the Brittist Standard says that they must be cut from 6mm plate and in the shape of an oval and the width at the shortest axis at least 2.5x the bolt diameter. where do you guys get your washers from? or do you just use round ones. It also says in the standard to countersink the washers so i guess mark around the washer and then neatly chissel the bark out, is this right. Its the first time that I have done any rigid bracing so ill take some pics.
  20. Try Kimmerige Bay Dorset
  21. No I had it powder coated green. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/469-referbished-chipper-2.html
  22. Dont worry about the postage. I had a bit of luck this afternoon, the shere pins went in the tu16 and for the life of me couldnt get the handle off. I took it to speedy lifting in Sloughand there fitter couldnt get it off either. So me the fitter and one of the guys from the office wrestled with it fir 20 mins and got it off. Once off the fitter rubbed the shaft down with emery paper, 3 new shere pins a newplastic cap in the handel and new saftey stickers on and when I asked them how much they said nothing dont worry! So one good turn deserves another. Me and a freind that knew what he was doing did the bearings, im not sure how long it took as the whole machine had been stripped grit blasted, galvanised and painted.
  23. What did you use to cover the nut in the end? Ive still got two both the wrong size for mine sitting in the container, your welcome to have it if you want it.
  24. Have you got the 150 or the smaller chipper, im not sure of the model? When I did my bearings I was told that once back together and with out any belts on to spin the fly wheel around and when it stops it should rotate the opposite direction about a quater of a turn I think, did you do this?
  25. how comes your rollers got painted yellow?
