  1. Email Timberwolf, they emaled me a manual Ill try and find it. Also Graham at Orange plant is very helpfull. Fule tank is under hopper on mine.
  2. On ring porus type trees the later in to the season the smaller the vessels get, so less fluid. Need to do and read up!!
  3. The fluid must stay in the tree over winter or else the vessels will just be filled with air, Cavitation.
  4. originally Pm this to Hama but Ive pasted it on here to discuss if this would be of benefit! Just an idea but how about all the info being put on a computer program which could be used on iPhone, tablet PC etc. So much more info could be put on there and it could be done in a way where you can enter characteristics of the fungi to whittle the choice down. once correct id is found then you can get all the info you need. im crap with computers but there getting smaller, more power full and used more, just a thought Easy to use and so much more info can be accessed in a small package and the other good thing is if you write more info or add or change it in some way people can down load the extra info from you. Also people could take photos of fungi and up load it to you to check of abnormalities for example the candle snuff I put up and then the pics can be added to the collection that every one downloads. So your work can evolve easily without having to buy loads of books
  5. I found it on the floor in dead bracken in merrist wood woods, no log just in the open.
  6. Took these on Wednesday, think there Candle-snuff fungus, Xylaria hypoxylon and saprophytic.

I think hunnys sell a velcro strap which replaces the leather strap. The velcro has a metal band in it.
  11. That was the last day I worked for him, This was about 1999 earning £50 a day soon after I stumbled on a job on the motorway and cleared £550 a week and had a company car:thumbup: Tree work after that was for my self, starting with stuff I could do then got bigger. The firm is exactly the same now 2 cabstars, the same ones in fact and 3 guys. This year im gonna push my advertising in his area.....
  12. Your skilled and experienced and can calculate the risk in the situation you have and know how far you can push your self but in the experience I had, it was for a 2 bit company not long out of college little experience and being the only climber trying to do work on trees out side of my capabilities is dangerous and to have the boss standing on the ground shouting does little for confidence.
  13. When I worked for firms who had stufed up the price they put the pressure on the climber to do the job faster which increases the risk of a accident which is out of order.
  14. The Timberwolf one is crap the hoppers too high and im not sure if its a drum type chipper! Jonsie sells the Jo Beau, Had a Greenmech out for demmo - good machine but I told them I was intrested and no one got back to me!!
  15. I think you made the right call mate! Id of probberly just done the job because I hate argueing with people and people get funny with money! Ive under priced jobs mainley gone in cheep when I first started so the mortgauge got paid and had food on the table. Ive also put prices in got the job and finnished the job much quicker than thought! At least your gonna break even instead of loosing money! Dont loose sleep over it mate!
  16. The area is compleatly flat ground but has been quite soggy! Im getting it back in on Tuesday and hopefully it will have dried out a bit. What attachments have you and what do you use to pick up and move brash? This machine either comes with a 4 in 1 bucket or a silage grapple.
  17. A bit off topic but seeing as you carvers are in one place i'll ask the question, who carved the tower out of the sequoia? It was fantastic and tried to show some 1 but couldnt find the pics!
  18. Thats a cool logo, that would cost you ££££ if you had it designed by a pro!
  19. plant, labour, seed, profit x estimated number of days
  20. If its stoney use a stone burier.
  21. I was under the impression that if running a newish chain and a cutter is damaged or completely broken off, that IF you have the equipment IE chain breaker and riveter then the cutter should be removed and a new one replaced instead of filling down all the other cutters to suit! That's what I was told to do at college 13 odd years ago.
  22. If you have a lot to go pm Vikki as they have a heizohack and fed with a 360.
  23. I took my relatively new 020 chain to my local stihl dealer as a drive link had snapped and to get them to rivet in a new drive link, they told me that they could only replace 1 rivet as it makes the chain week!! I guess they just wanted to sell me a new chain!
  24. I now always go gentle with engines when cold but in the truck manual is states that it is not nesicary to let idle to warm up but to start and drive off?
  25. I cancelled it and ill do it next week, its not worth the hassel argueing with the hire company or trashing the cliants lawn.
