  1. See how far he puts his hand in.
  2. If you look in the istructions it says not to use the shock absorber when bracing co dominant stems.
  3. The assesment will be done with Surrey NPTC, which is 2mins from MerristWoods Front gates.
  4. I Have spoken to the NPTC asessor and would be looking to do the assesment in April. If the people who expresed to me an intrest in the course would pm me there names and addresses ican forward on in one email and he will contact you direct to make the arrangements, and I think the assesment was about £100 allthough ive got to check. Paul
  5. MK5s are the smileys.
  6. Like Mat says the mk5 are very good but wach out for the rust!!! If you are going for the mk6 make sure its had its oil changed as this can lead to timing chain problems. The duel mass ful wheels are also rubbish, but they can when needed be changed to a solid and I think the early mk7 had teething problems.
  7. Apparently the stein blades are made at the same factory as the Silky ones. I havent used a Stein one but they do seem a bit heavey er and a bit more bulky, ill be sticking to my silky.
  8. I took my chipper there after he had been recomended and I wasn't entirley happy with the service and I wont be taking my chiper there again!

  13. I tried to organise thise course last year and had about 7 people on here wanting to go it but unforchantly due to personal reasons I couldnt go ahead and i appologise for not getting back to people. I am now ready to go ahead with the course and need 10 people at least and I think the price was about £100. I have 3 people ready to do this. The course was to be held with surry nptc I will pm the people that contacted me to see if they want to do it and arrange a date.
  14. Try Fentons at Reading. They have all theTaupens and will deliver
  15. Good points dmclimber.
  16. I dont think it matters wether they are using a chainsaw, silky or doing a climbing inspection, just the fact that 1 person is in the tree in a rope and harness.
  17. Just had a thought and wondered what you guys thought! As you all know for a climber to be in a tree you should have someone on the ground with the relevent climbing NPTC tickets. So if the climber who needs rescuing is unconscius and the rescuing groundi/climber leaves the ground that then means that if they dont have another tickited guy on the ground and they then become injured and cant desend, are braking HSE guidlines?
  18. Where abouts are you in ascot?
  19. Sorry.
  20. Hi Lee what site did you find this info on? Might have the day off join them and accidently spill a load of chip in the road!!
  21. Is that mag court 6 points and car confiscated?
  22. I went up to merrist wood this morning for a walk and look around and sore this brachet which had been fenced off (suprised its still there!). It seems to be on the root system of a Walnut.
  23. If you are going on the sea in a kayak not a sit on top you really need a spray deck and there for idearly need to roll. Once you have had the training you have a spectacular coast to explore up there!
  24. Try thr classifides on the river guide forum. Guidebook Community Pages • View forum - Private Sales They also have a sea and surf column which you may find helpfull and also a padderling partners thread so you may find someone in your area prepared to take you out safley. If your going it aloan on the sea allways take a vhf radio.
