  1. Don't know anyone there. But i see there trucks on the A41 and Leighton Buzzard road from time to time.
  2. Ha i thought it was close to there. The building in the background seemed familiar. Miss spent youth in Hertford you see.
  3. Must be getting quite old to be 30ish". Over about 60 years the shake start and then the value plummets.
  4. Once between sites in Finland the bosses Farm was on the way. We stopped drove the harvester down his farm track. Felled a couple of Spruces out the front and processed them down to rings. Then tracked it back to the low loader and moved to the next site:lol:
  5. I thought that would be the case. Thanks. On a side not i thought only the older Valmets with the steering wheel in the cab were legal to drive on the roads. With the right lights and everything and the mini stick steering on the modern forwarders wasn't ment for road use:confused1:
  6. 810D I wish.
  7. Is that down by the Station?
  8. Yes its Valtra/botex set up.
  9. What are the legalities of delivering round wood from yard to customer with the forwarder? Hire and reward insurance? I know i cant use red. Can i just pay duty on the red or do i need to pop down to the petrol station and fill up with white? It's only 3 miles down the road but i want to be all above board.
  10. I must admit to using a few local dealers. Bradstocks, Olivers, FR Jones. I must admit to not needing parts that expensive often. Only clutches nut bolts etc.
  11. The Malwa 560 looks very good. The 8m reach crane would make that an ace thinning machine. Shame they don't do a 8 wheel version of the base unit.
  12. Thats almost the same except it didn't have the plate around it so the oil dripped all over the floor of the cab.
  13. Interesting I've always found Husky parts well priced. I've only ever had to wait 2-3 days for my spares too. Quite a lot has been next day.
  14. Too far away from me i'm afraid.
  15. IF it works why is it on the bin?
  16. Thats a big stick of Sycie. Are you going to mill it up or going to have some nice try firewood. Out of interest are the scores in the face cut some sort of fissures or just an over cut from blocking out the face?
  17. Today one of the guys 560 broke rather spectacularly. 4 Months old and the Piston is badly scored. More importantly the top of the piston just above the ring has sheared off and gone off down the exhaust. Never seen a saw fail like that before. Off for a warranty repair now....
  18. Which one? I think i have a picture for an 8000 series.
  19. Bandit chippers are worth a look. They don't like short bits too much though.
  20. If its a large woodland with a few compartments of decent timber then there is money to be made. Are we talking tens or hundrends of tonnes thinnings? If its in Herts then its more than likely on clay which means you can make a hell of a mess extracting if your not careful. Also there are a lot of firewood dealers around so shifting it not very far fairly easy.
  21. I have a 2013. Wonderful saw but the carb went changed under warranty but its all good now.
  22. Totally right. Problem is that people don't want to pay more. The firewood guy has to compete with every other guy doing logs and his margins are as tight if not tighter than the harvesting contractor.
  23. Yes i am.
  24. Yep £80 to stave off white finger for a little longer.
