  1. That is indeed the biggest load of tosh you have ever uttered on this forum Tony. A Bullet kills faster and more humainly than any Arrow. As for Deer running off without their Hind Quarters, would they be running on their forequarters? IF you cock up a shot on a Deer and smash its Pelvis it drops straight away,it might go some distance "in front wheel drive" but you would put one through its vitals before it did so.Instant death, something an Arrow does not do on Deer sized game. Arrows kill by way of blood loss, the Arrow (hopefully) severs an artery, off runs the animal pumping blood like a fountain untill it dies or lies down. As for "a long bow taking a man off his feet at 150 yards" how can the delivered energy of an Arrow be greater than its energy upon release? So if it knocks a man off his feet at 150 yards,it must fling the Archer across the feild when he fires it.
  2. Because the bottom has fallen out of the UK Tree industry or and VOSA are busting people running on Cherry?
  3. However my Chipper was on a trailer and I had this little deception on the linkage.
  4. The Fish and Birds down stream from Glastonbury must have a great time once a year!
  5. Years ago I was driving a Dozer in the Forest, gingerly I tracked across a slope sitting on the arm rest becase of the angle the machine was on. "Don´t ++++ around yelled the foreman,it´ll take twice the angle" So I sat down, did the seat belt up just before I rolled 25 tons of Dozer three times.
  6. I can't help you,but would enjoy seeing some pictures of your work. Please post some.
  7. Thats actually a very exciting program by Scandinavian standards. Only bettered on a global scale by the Canadian burning log Channels, where one can choose between Ceder or Hickory. My highlight was always when the person in charge would add another Log.
  8. There arn't many jobs out there.Being 40 and newly qualified puts you at the back of the line frankly. The number of training organisations popping up,is a reflection of the money to be made from training. Not as a result of staff shortages. All the best.

    Dwarfism

Why? Plenty of ex forces guys in here.I was in the Cubs,Scouts and Army Cadets actually.
  10. Don't know how they do it in Scandinavia. They must not work at all in the winter?
  11. That was cool! I really enjoyed the Music.
  12. Spot on. By the the time the stop Bar would have been tripped,he would have lost his foot anyway.
  13. Why don'y you just call Atkinson Voss and listen to them? After all they sell these things you know.
  14. I had one of those.Great machine! The tank is not that big from memory. If you are going to be running it hot all day, then bring an extra 20liters on top of a full tank. If you ever feel like getting rid of it,let me know please.
  15. Highly recommend these.Had mine 6 months and they are wearing excellently.I'll get a year out of them for sure. :Husqvarna Classic Chainsaw Trousers Black 5781654xx | eBay I used to swear by the stretch airs, but they arn't what they used to be.And at the current price of the stretch airs, you can get four pairs of the Husky ones.
  16. You can actually hear the Belt slipping all the way through the Video.I'd not be too proud of that. Chipping stuff like that is the realm of a BC1800XL or larger.
  17. Don't you think sticking around and solving your own Country's problems isn't the right thing to do? As for "the grass is greener" syndrome. The Tree industry in New Zealand is pretty much saturated as well. There were 72 Companies offering Tree Services in Christchurch alone. The industry is a victim of its own appeal .
  18. I ended up making the Handle from some Pine that my mates Barn was buildt from in the 1600's. I made a guard from half a Brass Bush, then shortly after lost the Knife.
  19. Tipped over two Fallow when I was home in New Zealand. Shot them on public land,45mins from where I grew up. No permits,Deer Stalking Quals,Camo wearing Gun Stock Ammo holder bipod torch on the Barrel, range finder etc.
  20. I use a Ms192 for reductions and little section fells.I bought it in the States for about £200 brand new.It came with a 16" Bar which I was a bit skeptical of,however after porting it it really is the mutts nuts for pruning. The long bar means less reaching.
  21. Does look good that. And probably all you need for a Crown Reduction.
  22. Nice Video mate!
  23. I bet its not. I was on $440 per six and a half hour day back in 1999,logging in BC.I had left a Cable Logging crew in New Zealand ,where I was on $220 for 14 hours with one hour travel each way. I realized more at the end of the week in Canada and Alaska than I have done working anywhere else. The cost of living in New Zealand has as previously stated risen drastically, and wages are often 30% less than in Aus. Scandinavia payes well, but the taxes are drastic and the cost of living is enormous.
  24. Probably best off winching them into the Crown with a GRCS or similar.
