  1. Because its the first major advancement in our rope techniques in ages,I think that some inexperianced climbers buy too much gear without the basic understanding of the job. This can mean they used advanced techniques which over complecate transitioning from ascent to work rig. The more stuff you have, the more stuff you have to go wrong with.
  2. You seem to be missing the upper brackets. I can take a picture of the DIN plate on mine.Give you something to go on.
  3. For the last few days we have been clearing a area.We felled all the Trees and using the Mog's 14 ton winch, pulled them to a landing where a Heizohak powered by a 250Hp Valtra could chip them. Whilst he was chipping the Trees we did some victory laps around the area, stopping periodically for some gratuitous Unimog Photos. Then the Valtra could not maneuver the chipper through a gap, much to the drivers dismay,he had to unhook and have is machine towed through by mini mog.
  4. I have a feeling you are going to do very well in this industry young man.
  5. The plume of blue smoke is a indicator that the engine is running. Its an aid for the Deaf. Also the eye watering emissions help the sight impared. The Germans were way ahead of the times.
  6. Give it an Oil and filter change.monitor the Oil consumption by using the hour clock as a reference. If your happy with it smoking then its up to. I would recomend getting to compression tested and the injectors looked at (they have to come out for the test). Also they can see if the bores are glazed at the same time.It could also be the seal between the valve train and the intake ports on the head,if that splits it sucks oil into the intakes when its running, easy fix. We can all hypothesis untill the Cows come home, but is burning oil and its good to know why.
  7. Exactly the man I need to talk to! Thanks Rich.
  8. This might turn into "Ians engine rebuild thread" looking at the colour and form of that smoke.Consider having it compression tested and the injectors looked at.
  9. I need to be recomended someone. I could have played the google game too, however the wheels are irreplaceable as the carridge is probably the last known one in existence.
  10. They will be used to an extent. Thank you for extending your offer but these need to right first time.
  11. That would be great if you could mate. They are more like Old Car wheels than Cart wheels,Metal Hubs with Brass bushes. Its all there, just the wood is knackered.
  12. I have two wooden Cart type wheels I need rebuilt.I have the Hubs,Tyres, fellows and rims but wood is rotten. Does anyone on here undertake such work or recommend anyone who does? These need to be spot on.
  13. I think you need to get out a bit more mate
  14. Yes. That was the combat uniform we used to wear whilst pruning trees for the benefit of starving communities
  15. Never been that lucky mate. I was recruited to DART after passing my deep sea skydiver selection.
  16. We are not in the SAS. Wind your neck in.
