  1. Margins are not too tight. I cannot attract decent staff to what amounts to a 440k nok package. It's not the money it's the quality or lack their of of staff.
  2. I think as always, the better staff are already occupied. I have struggled this year to find a helper,my turnover is about half of last years as a result. The audacity of some of the applicants is frankly staggering,I include a flat with bills included in the deal, one guy was willing to come over, maybe if I bought him a campervan for him to travel about in on his off days!
  3. I did quite a bit of "finger blasting" in my early teens. The results were never as spectacular as your film however.
  4. I say go and do it! Buy a van and travel round various parts of the Country doing bits of work here and there on a self employed basis. The best fallers I have seen were in their 50s,slow but steady and every tree laid out perfectly or as perfectly as the terrain allowed.
  5. Not many people possess enough grit to work on a bank like that.
  6. But both bridges are attached to the same web on a harness, thus introducing a single redundancy. We need two harnesses.
  7. Consider Hiring a tipping trailer off a builder at the weekends. Go into the trailer shop, explain you can't afford to buy one right now and ask them if they know anyone that might be willing to Hire one out. Worst you will hear is not, best might be that they had a used/part exchange you might get for cheap?
  8. Don't you already have that through the use of a side strop? I would enjoy seeing the architects of the New rule, productively reduce a large Beech Tree using two climbing ropes and a side strop.
  9. How does one use two independent anchors on a single stemmed tree? As two independent anchorpoints are reliant on a single point,in this case the single stem the failure of which would result in both anchors failing as well? No advantage over a single rope.
  10. Because money spent on Trees is money home owners don't really want to spend. They don't perceive to be getting anything for their expenditure.Put new Wiring/Plumbing/landscape a garden and viola! Your property value increases by at least 2X the amount expended.Reduce the tree in the garden and it matters not a jott. On top of that you have a proliferation of companies almost everywhere, when the domestic market gets crowded they take their undercutting into the commercial sector, In addition general treework is not very difficult,I use about 20% of what I know on 80% of all the work I do.I cannot get away with charging double for the remaining tricky stuff or I will loose it to the company that takes longer but does it for 30% less than me. Plumbers/builders/gasfitters all have to sign off their work where I live,if you don't have a certificate showing who did any work,it down grades the value on your house.Insurance won't pay out either. It used to be the case of the home owner being able to do the work and then paying a sparky to connect up the circuit to the mains and sign off the work for a fee,now all companies refuse to do this as they are forcing you to comply with their wishes.I just paid £1400 to get a single room wired up.Took two drippy buggers all day,I could have done it alone in half that time....
  11. Might be for a Pizza Oven,wood fired Pizza's?
  12. The newer ones dont seem to have the pick-up or Torque of the 200T I paid £500 for one in similar condition to yours a few years ago and £600 for one completely rebuild using only a used used crankcase, all other parts new OEM There are few guys knocking them out in the states, you can choose from varying degrees of rebuild.
  13. Where did you get the parts from please? @hamdogg
  14. Wtf? That thing was obsolete the day it was made.Tank Armor was already too thick by the 1930s for a Boyes to scratch it. It needed an armored vehicle to transport it and the ammo. "As for a good sniper" taking headshots at crewmen/comms/sights etc"with that abortion of a gun,You are living in fantasy land.
  15. The Black tip denotes Armor piercing,it might have another red band(tracer) or yellow band (incendiary) or both painted underneath the black tip. Clean off the base of the Cartridge on some denim or use a scrubbing brush, post a picture and I will tell you where and when it was made. In the meantime, pull the projectile out by clamping it firmly in the soft jaws of a vice and wriggling the case to and fro.Pour the powder onto the lawn and kill the primer with a squirt of WD-40 inside the case.
  16. £130 per day on the books Accomadation included 6 weeks paid holiday Overseas trip at Christmas time.
  17. I hope your wheels are soon doing a burn-out of inspiration.
