I'm trying to make a dead eye sling using tenex tec 19 mm. I've buried the tail a fid's length back into the rope. Should i use whipping. Thanks for any help

I Left this rigging sling in a scots pine just before our holidays , that was four weeks ago. I'll try some butter , but i think a new one is the shopping list
