  1. a neat way to keep the eye stiff and open is to do an endless loop splice, the eye is where the crossover is. The extra material here creates the stiffness that forms the eye and needs no wire or anything inserted. one of many cool tricks that were shown by climbers at the worlds over the weekend:) It needs double braid rope by the way.

    Itcc Results

scott, joe, john, johan, jared. mark c came 11th. 2 points seperated the top 4 in the masters. chrissy, jess, kiah in female masters. NZ won the worlds, won the chapter and owns the male and female footlock world record. not bad for a small place!!
  10. Just watched the doco film "if a tree a falls"- about the ELF (earth liberation front) members who burnt down buildings that were associated with companies destroying/raping the earth. Over years and years they torched a number of prominent buildings but made sure to never physically hurt any life-they were locked up by the US government not as arsonists but terrorists for many years. A very thought provoking film, id recommend to everyone.

    Hub

Just another way of setting the hub up. Its attached to the access line witha girth hitch and access line tied off to base of tree. Other end still used for access. Working line runs through centre of the hub and acts like a cambium saver. The Hc gives it a 3:1 setup. Probably overly complicated but fun to play with on a sunny day:001_smile: The DMM ring on the side of the hitch is so that i can keep the tail of my climbing line with me when using it in a 3:1 setup-just attach a revolver or similar into it.
