  1. It's okay, there's a bit to see here an there...
  2. It's harder to tie that way but yeah, that works also. There are many many ways to do this, those are just a few pics.
  3. Yeah bro
  4. Hey Paul, just pull the alpine down to you, undo it and your good to go. The ring just floats above your dbrt system. Rossi from Pro Climb The Tree Care, Climbing and Training Specialists showed me this, it works brilliantly.
  5. I mainly use the cambium saver lock off but recently got shown no5 by my good friend Rossi, I think it may be the best one due to being able to leave the hitch on for retrieval
  6. heres a few anchors-undoubtabely there are a million different versions but here goes. 1-cambium saver is set up as normal and rope thread through the rings. alpine butterfly is tied on the down side leg of the small ring and hitch system is plaec ed on opposing side. to retrieve just remove hitch system and pull down on alp bfly side, cs will retrieve as normal.works better with a suitable crotch 2-Simple bowline cinched around the stem. can work without a crotch. non retrievable as set up this way 3-throwline is attached to bowline to aid retrieval, can be a pain having a throwline dangling and also bowline can get damaged during retrieval unlessa ring is used 4-midline bowline. remotely retrievable, again requires a ring to prevent damage. carabiner prevents the knot from ever opening 5-both legs of rope inserted through the ring and alpine tied below. ring enables smooth retrieval. can switch between srt and dbrt simply by removing the alp bfly.dont have to remove hitch system to retrieve.. 6-base anchored showing how easy it is for the rope to load a branch rather than the stem it is tied around 7-base anchored showing how easy it is to climb above your suspension point and not be tied in at all 8-A trick by kev b to keep the legs togther and prevent the see saw action that base anchors can do 9-a pic showing how a natural red is loaded correctly in one direction 10- but the other direction loads the small sub branch and also lets the rope migrate away from the crotch
  7. Is a cool device that sits under your hitch as opposed to above..
  8. Apologies- lost in translation..
  9. Good effort on stitching the throat that high bro, cougar goes rock solid about there I've found..
  10. Um, the wrench tether is a wrench out of a tool kit though bro for the solid version
  11. Yeah 100% Pete. I think that's where the classification of terminology is going I become very important- a lot of people confuse srt access and srt work pos as the same thing. To me they can be 2 completely different things. I think srt access via toothed ascenders should 'ideally' be lowerable when possible, work pos is a whole diff kettle of fish..
  12. just dont basal tie-no other climbing system is lowerable so why the percieved need for SRT work positioing to be lowerable?
  13. youve lost me bro, the wrench IS the tether and yes it fits the zk 1. or we both on different tracks?
  14. Damn auto correct! Shoulda said remove the tether and put a wrench from a tool kit in its place..
  15. yeah bro, just use an old wrench for a tool kit-seriously!
  16. yeah id just get the beeline cord and work out what length your happy with first
  17. i find the standard bushings start to squeak on the hc but not on the bearings in the rapide..thats enough for me
  18. I'll get a heap of tie off pics done today hopefully bro
  19. Great work gibbon..
  20. hey cheers for looking! ill see why you couldnt send a message to it. we also have an active facebook page about the trip https://www.facebook.com/ExploreTheAncientTreesOfAfrica
  21. Hey treepeat, look up Explore: The Ancient Trees Of Africa for info on our Africa expedition..
  22. Kev Bingham has a very good article in "arb climber" about srt anchoring systems
  23. if its just cinced witha bowline yes. i might do a thread on diff anchor systems for srt....
  24. im against base anchors for work positioning- i think they open up more dangers than benefits. i prefer to just choke it athe top of the tree using a running bowline, locked off cambium saver, a rossilock or similar. But if you do want to base anchor you can just running bowline, petzl RIG, ISC scarab, fig 8-the list is huge....
  25. for me thats one of the beauties of srt and the rw-it doesnt require a heap of new shiny gear to make it work. just use what youve got....
