  1. theoben rapid s-type possibly the finest air-rifle i have ever had the pleasure of firing rrp £943 and you can shoot smarties at 50yards no problem what you wanting to shoot with it? as thats a lot for an air-rifle
  2. you could use a IR LED and sensor across the infeed, would only need two small holes and being solid state are relatively shock proof, somewhere about i have a circuit board printed up for this purpose that just goes to a relay, you could then have that trigger an electronic fuel pump, down side is it would be basically a logic system so it would be either at idle or full revs, dont see it being a huge problem if someone had a day or two. i would be tempted to bypass the existing throttle system and just mount the second fuel pump in parrallel to the existing sytem, so one or t'other could be used, (not both at the same time)
  3. are the security settings on the blackberry still the same regarding the wep key encription? (assuming you have a livebox from orange)
  4. Attached is the PDF flyer and i have been informed that booking isnt nessicary just turn up, Charlie Flier_for_woodland_drop-in_session.pdf
  5. sorry to hear that Chris, no cctv or active alarm that rings you? you can set a yale wireless system up that rings you pretty cheaply, doesnt keep them out but lets you know if somethings up.
  6. I was working for the Game Conservancy, one of the many bits of work i did for them, the deer really really really need a serious hammering, as some of the areas had no sheep, and just loads of deer, With the woodland grouse the numbers are being affected by vegetaion being to short and also the nests getting trampled by deer, i can see one solution that involves a bit of time and a .270 (not endorsing DCS though)
  7. I was volunteer work as well so didnt get paid it was a shock to the system sat in tescos car park in Aviemore in the first week of June with the thermometer in the L200 saying 2degrees and there being a light shower of snow surfice to say i went back to the office. the one thing i couldnt believe was the sheer numbers of ticks from the deer in the heather, i wouldnt sit down for my dinner, my other half was doing a study into tick abundance up there, and found one fieldvole with 110 ticks on it I loved seeing the capercaillie about up there, fantastic,
  8. I did a load of vegetation survey work up there a few years back, round rothiemurchas and kinveachy awesome place, really liked it, but i was living at Drumochter (the highest point on the A9 i think) and i hated it, it was like a 30mile round trip to the pub Must admit i love the west coast, been up to Oldshoremore near Kinlochbervie lots of times, love the beachs and scenery can go for a paddle in the see with the dolphins, and watch the otters and seals, hmm think i might have to book a cabin up there again soon
  9. i know you have to be carefull with attachments other than the saw,

  15. my ht75 end drive shaft appears to have popped itself loose today and i cant get it back in, does anyone have the ipl or workshop manual as a pdf the could email me, or explain the disassembly procedure if there is one, i have a horrible feeling its a sealed unit and may require a new shaft

  19. is it tordon 22k?
  20. if you want to get more into it, contact your local wildlife trust who will be able to point you in the direction of your local bat group, who will normally carry out cheap training helping you to gain your bat license and will give you lots of opportunities to see bats in the natural habitats and carry out different survey techniques, you may well find they are keen to have someone who is happy to climb trees etc in the group, normally its not expensive but you will have to put some volunteer time in! EDIT: or contact the people Monkeyd has just found whilst i was posting
  21. recon you were lucky to escape with all your fingers intact! nasty viscious little things
  22. spits and crackles a hell of a lot from memory, so not good on open fires,
  23. i have an old open faced helmet but im going to change it as im sure its probably no longer up to spec' in terms of batteries im running a landrover battery mounted in the front ammo create, i will run the seeding unit for two days before needing a recharge
  24. i should have had a beacon on the bike for the work i have been doing recently as its a construction site, but really if im going to get hit by a digger im not sure a beacon will help, Also had to wear my helmet all day long
  25. i have done a couple of days work this month with the quad, it has paid the rent and the bills in a matter of days, but the work is very few and far between as especially increasing, i am having to be competative against 200hp tractors with big machinery, just try to specialise enough so i have been seeding grass into areas where trees have already been planted so the tractors cant do it, best bit is that when i've finished my seed bed is a lot better than the tractors can manage I will hopefully get asked back to help flail between the trees and also some spraying of docks that are coming up, so i really hope it does generate a good few more days work. But my battered old 250honda isnt giving a good impression and if the work is picking up its not going to hold out for many more days work, hence this thread dont know where you would sign write it? not many panels on it, only ones i have seen with any writing have been Police and Rescue services
