Mine came today if anyone local wants a look see:thumbup: could do with a hand putting it together
  4. is the real issue was it legal? was it safe.? could it of gone terribly wrong? I for 1 decided not to let my son use one till he was old enough and wearing PPE and having training At least it was a husky and not a stihl so maybe he knows more than most:thumbup:
  5. but will you need Pa 6 as well???? whatever you do will it help you get work. Yes but so many options and really depends on who might give you a job For 32 imo you need to be very proficient and i would personally recomend min 6 months tree work prior to doing it some would want 38 some would want woodchipper and don,t bother. Pole saw is not a bad cheaper one as is brushcutter Sorry don;t think that was very helpfull:blushing:

    Own Up!?!

How can you knock them then talk about monoliths and fracture pruning If they had CORONETS cut in them you would of all been going spot on. I dont blame the tree guys or galls or the carpet folk it is down to the planners. Of course the carpet firm want folk passing to see they are there and they do free fitting. Sadly it will be a miniscule amount of folk that think there wrong. Personally I would prefer them out but next yr they will look fine Is it better a butchered tree than NO tree??????? enjoy:thumbup:

There is a special tool that makes it very easy. Well worth getting if you have a couple of saws. Have struggled with pliers and screw drivers now can change all 3 in under 30 secs:thumbup:
  11. We are not looking for staff but if we were HGV would be HIGH on the wish list. We have had to put 2 guys through at considerable costs and would ideally like another backup but as tommer said I also need to put 3 through so they can tow a trailor. They are tree guys that drive the 18tonner to jobs and back again:thumbup: I would not employ just a guy to drive

    020t clutch

    possible spring but usually drives
  13. surprised at that I fitted some chunkys to a pickup and found it worse of road if just stopped one wheel and put the power to the other If both were on slippy as in snow or ice it was better. I went back to proper pickup spin em both and generally found them better and just dont bother in the snow unless weighted down
  14. when I can't be bothered to put them on I usually regret it. Once you get competent on spikes there is no going back. The folk I know that don't like em never stuck with them. Personally llllooooovvvvveeee em:thumbup:
  15. try ringing around the local guys might be worth trying to either get a days trial at either expenses or for nowt just so they can get to meet you and see how personalities get on. My favourite workers are the ones I get on with rather than the ones that have massess of experiences and qualifications. Just a thought Its all about opening doors

  18. nice fringe:thumbup:
  19. done mine 5 times over 17 years though at least a year between and always a major trauma and major issues getting it back in Hope it never comes out again
  20. sorry where would we be without any hse or training guidlines still looking for the link i really wanted to find you but tbh why bother:blushing: I honestly believe the system is not ideal but better than nothing but still look how many views this thread has compared some of the others
  21. Tree Work ? Tree work statistics http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg278.pdf Tree Work ? Case studies
  22. Climbing kit must be 22kn minimum which pretty much means fine for use and the allowance for a rescue. Even if you used a 3 ton sling in your climbing kit it would now be deemed as 1 Person ( with the allowance for rescue) Hope that makes sense
  23. or no one else would take it on haha:lol: only joking andy not haha
