  6. presumably you mean not connecting splice to top of lockjack It does actually work just on a single rope but whether it should be is another question and i for 1 would be interested in marcs definative not to use

We discussed this very question on the way home It is rare for a working tree surgeon in England to be needing to go all the way to the top of a tree without doing something on the way up and whether it was worth the ££££ outlay and practice. but certainly could come on handy and is a very useful system and maybe a very quick access for a rescue straight up the climbers line So in essence if the need arises would be worth the investment and tbh i have all the components and will be fine tuning a system but will be interesting whether i ever use it in reality

  14. i charge dependent on what i do if the kit is well presented ready marked and paperwork in place ect £35 ISH if it all needs sorting and marking it,s obviously more work so i charge a bit more rigging stuff similar i also have proper marking equipment and label making machines ect which allows proper unique ID and all relevant info

  16. either carb issues or is it down to the heat some saws more than others are affected by heat and keep them cool and keep you fuel container in the shade does make a difference but i would look towards talking to a dealer about carb issues as they had a period of fault carbs mine has just had a new carb all under waranty and its a few years old
  17. i own and use both on different jobs they are both similar but different use the spiderjack a lot more if both got nicked i would buy the spiderjack first

  22. couple of points an average saw running full out ringing up or cutting up log pile takes 35 mins to a tank full John what testing conditions did you use for your saws and what preparation did you do to the saw we had ours tested approx 6 yrs ago and the results were very missleading ie new saws vibrated more than old one the second time we had them tested we did 1 saw rough results were on a brand new 357xp well set up new bar and chain 4hrs slightly slack chain 2hrs badly sharpened chain ie depth guages and odd angles 1hr as above but slack 18 mins and this was on a new saw
  23. supprised to read that as the switch on stihls is pants imo even turns off the hard way UP surely down with your thumb makes a lot more sense
