  1. A top fuel goes from 0-100 in 60ft!
  2. Race fuel at this level cannot be had at the pumps so 105-120Ron. Drain the fuel before going on the road as it burns too hot and is dear! Change to pump fuel for road but still dear and slightly different tune/timing, and ceack on for hundreds of street miles in a race car. He drove from Dallas to Miami last year for Sick Week and back after!
  3. Not at the costs involved at this level of budget and income!
  4. Imagine driving this 2000hp from Pod to York via Skegness in the rain and back via Derby. Checking valve lash in a laybye on the way back! This caught fire as it crossed the line last bank holiday.
  5. I think the rules to drag and drive are different, focusing on your individual times, road trip check ins and getting through the week! Street Weekend in the UK is similar but over a long weekend and not a week. Santa Pod then drive to York via set check ins, do a run, pack up and back to Pod via check points and run your best time there!
  6. It was a bought unseen shed! Fixed often on the side of the road or carport of hotel or autoparts store! Foxbody Mustang with 4.6 V8. Fancy pistons, H section rods, wicked cam, big turbo, Holley fuel system which he wont outgrow, launch control and bump, heavy duty gearbox with racing torque converter through an LSD rear axle. Stripped bare of anything unnecessary and often slept in, hence the moniker "Napshack"! Race fuel on the strip and street fuel for road trip, getting some 12mpg cruising at 55 towing the trailer full of tools and spares. Last year at Rocky Mountain Race Week and Death Week, everything went in the car and was piled in a heap in the pits - except his phone, wallet and laptop to Race!
  7. He will need a different level of scrutineering and alterations to the car, cage and safety, possibly parachute and an appropriate NHRA licence! As it is, I doubt it would pass an mot in the UK with no wipers and no demister, plus other stuff! I'll go as co driver next year if he leaves the car there!
  8. Pork steaks, cauliflower cheese and chips!
  9. Now done a 10.18 pass at 136! Got to be careful as anything under 10 is disqualification as you need an NHRA licence and the car has a different set of rules!
  10. I'm up, too early again! Talking and driving sort of day! Rained in the night and is grey! Tom in the states tells me that they have been having some mega rain and thunder storms in Oklahoma. One place had a transport ban and all hotels etc got shut for the period and 6" of rain fell in a day! Be good y'all! Mirror, Cull.
  11. Tom, my lad, is into drag racing and crews for Bad Apple Racing which has a 2000hp 57 Chevrolet. At Santa Pod the other weekend, that caught fire and, while salvaged, needs a chunk of work. Tom has a Foxbody Mustang in Dallas and is currently doing Mega Week, a drag and drive event. Living his dream! Messenger_creation_42E17CE7-9069-43C7-8291-CA29DE3194E5.mp4
  12. Another Madras for my freezer! All to the tunes of The Blues Brothers!
  13. Awake far too early again, gives me a chance to read paper i suppose! Looks likely to be a hot one! Be good out there! Goes, Trite.

    Series 1?

County in LR terms is a trim level etc, nowt to do with County conversions to drivetrains. I had a County Transit back in the day, live axle front and back with twin wheels. It did the job for a bit but wasn't that good off road or on road tbh!
  15. Grey and blustery, left the washing on the line too! Driving and talking sort of day today. Men, Ear, Thyme.
  16. I'll give it a go maybe!
  17. CS100 is tall enough to chip in to the average wheelie bin! Epic way of getting the waste out without the myther of sweeping up!
  18. Morning Team. Be safe y'all, looks good out. Wrasse, Bury, Jamb.
  19. Awake too early listening to birds outside. Sounds good out! Loud fox in the night whichni haven't heard in ages! Probably go to Charmouth again today, Mum is fixated by the landslip and beach profiles, I just amble about finding copralights....then driving home after dinner. Riff, Ridge, Aerator.
  20. Loretta Swit aka Hot Lips Hoolahan!
  21. Got a lot on today! Concrete to bust, hall to set up for bowls teams award ceremony, rugby to watch, fossil hunt at Charmouth, facetime Tom in the States, bowls ceremony and then bed! Enjoy the day! Spice, Tories.
  22. Just throwing this in there..... what are you carrying in the trailer? I often use hitchlock, cover and chain but the goods in the trailer are not secured, the trailer can be tipped and the load rolled out or just craned off!
  23. Call Maple Trees in Nottingham, they got the gear for this!
  24. Morning All! Seems bright but blustery today. Later on, off to south Devon to see the old folks. Possibly fossil hunting at Charmouth tomorrow! Be good y'all! Peds! How's the recovery? Toot, Odes, Loaf. (I know it's correct, but, someone explain it please!)
  25. Off to South Devon to see the old folk tomorrow, Mum has dementia and lost the ability to be creative in the kitchen and gets upset if Dad starts.... Vat of Rogan Josh with local rules applied to be potted up for their freezer! Dad has a 'procedure' next week and cannot eat spicy or fatty foods so a chicken/leek/mushroom thing in a Mediterranean tomato sauce on pasta to do when I get there!
