  3. Please correct me if I'm wrong but understood that there needed to be a screen between mewp operater and saw operater, saws used from basket needs a lanyard, fall arrest harnesses a basic requirement. I just find this behaviour difficult to tolerate from such large big name.

  7. My big beef is if the big names float the rules and there seen as benchmark in the industry then what chance do we have the truncheon guys will go to town on small firms at have everything fairplay is all I'm asking for ??????
  8. Need to bite my tongue abit don't want a slapped wrist but I will avoid this being a rant. My point is large companies and organizations doing arb work should tow the line on way home though the new forest guys working roadside full tm stop go boards all ok then there's 3 blokes in access platform basket no harnesses using un necessary long ground saw what realy gets me is that this organization has and does work and research with our friends at the hse. I'm not trying to throw dirt but if big names cut corners the Joe public won't apprecate why there paying the right money for a safe and good job.
  9. This is all very intresting reading the and understanding the relasionships between groundie and climber. Personaly i have witnessed all of these trates and have come to relaise that a good groundie is worth 2 climbers imo the climber groundie thing should be of mutual respect the climber cuts stuff chipper freindly the groundie keeps the deck clear looks out for walkers etc and by no way do i think or suggest that a groundsmans job is merely rakes and brooms far from it. I the back of my head i always remeber that if i should fall that its the groundies i will be pinning my trust in and if you treat them like shite thay may just have been putting the kettle on when you feel. Treat your groundies well people
  10. I'd second welding something to the bolt as the heat helps to ease things too i have found

  23. I could'nt agree more with the comments above all very true, don't screw the local guys one day you may be sitting in front of them in an interveiw ???? There are way to many guys out the competing for the same slice of the cake just price your work to suit your overheads and the product that your supplying at your stage of the game it would pay to play nice maybe ask local treesurgeon (possible arbtalk member) to do the stumps when thay come to lookie and quote be honest and genuine it goes further than you think ask there advice. This industry is full of division for loads of reason if we can have "arb" world peace at would be cool.
  24. I know a guy who has an 18t rigid flat bed with a grab might be worth a try he's winchester based though ????
