    tunage

Dunno if Dubstep, Jungle, drum n bass and techno is anyones scene but here is a link to my mates Podcast page if it floats anyones boat. Covalents page. i miss living with him to be woken up at 6am (when 7 was an early start)when he realized what tunes would go together. Jamie
  3. i often cycle to work. i chicked my bike in teh back of the mog. At the end of the day we were just about to drive off site (accross town where i'd get out and cycle the rest). 2 guys walked past the mog (on teh other side) and i watched their shadows and waited to see them pass the chipper. i opened the side door and removed my gransfors brux. one guy was on the top link bike in hands. i asked him to take his thieving hands off my bike. his mate piped up claiming their innocence at which point i slipped off the axe sheath and told them which thieving fingers i'd cut off first. funnily enough they left without my bike Jamie
  4. i should have a boardwise orange blank with some venture trucks somewhere, i skated to commute. 2/3 mile skates were teh norm. i prefer to play outta town Jamie
  5. I was under the impression that if rope is stored somewhere cool, dry and out of direct light it'd last for years. Jamie
  6. I've done some work from the grab on the crane before and its freaky climbing on top of it and balancing on teh rotator (tied in). its also weird climbing ontop of teh quick hitch on a JS130. we set a line up it and pulled that with the big mog and set a butt line on it with the wee mog. the butt line was kept taught so that if the hinge snapped there was no chance the tree was kicking back into the building. well that was the idea. the tree was felled over the road as we had the road closed by the police. Jamie
  7. thieves don't go to jail, they get community service and asked not to do it again Jamie
  8. my mate martyn some guy called rennie myles Jamie
  9. and dont leave it getting wet and mouldy then send it to someone Jamie

    footlocking

i've thought about that, i'll just pull though. i'm never normally miles down in these situations. Jamie
  11. I like my bosses mog and chip box due to teh fact it has a chipper on teh back a chip box and a winch and butt plate up front. a versitile wee machine that can be used for skidding, pulling trees over, self rescue chipping towing etc etc etc. down point is that it doesn't have teh off road capabilites of a real tractor and doesn';t have teh on road capabilities of a van. it doesn't require a trailer to tow teh chipper, it chips into itself. carries 2 guys. its an ok comprimise. its not perfect but how many solutions are perfect? Jamie
  12. 4 years at Uni doing my hons degree in countryside management, 8 months as a waiter then i did my cs 30 ,31 and 38 and started my RFS cert ARB and got a job. been doing it now for 5 and a bit years. Jamie

    footlocking

I'f i ever end up hanging in space i just tend to pull and body thrust my way up. it's hard to footlock in spikes, i've tried Jamie
  14. I'd say ascenders should be in, as they can be used in life support (even if they are backed up). Axeman, how does that 9mm rope work out? I was under the impression that it was recommended that a hitch on a single leg should have been on at least 10mm cord. Jamie
  15. i think we are either selling the tractors and buy elephants or going into steam powered tractors where we burn the produce (not waste or fuel) on the way home. Jamie
  16. As far as i'm aware (i'm not a LOLER inspector) the pantin isn't reqired as its not part of life support. it can't be used as main or backup life support as it has no locking mechanisim to keep the rope in teh body of the device. I've been told its a climbing aid like spikes. Jamie
  17. one of these bad boys yeah? there should be a bolt going through the cam from the body of the rope grab. unscrew that. there are some with r clips and one with spring loaded thingys which as far as i'm aware shouldn't be used as life support. Jamie
  18. ouch that makes my hand look a bit girly. i suppose at least its improved your looks:scared: Jamie
  19. i can imagine it wouldn't have ended up online if one of them had slipped jamie
  20. props to them, i've always wanted to to that, dont think i will though JAmie
  21. its cool, you don't know when it happened and all that jazz Jamie
  22. I had cut my hand, see the scars thread. i couldn't use my right hand but felt i had to get rid of that sleeve Jamie
  23. a topping strop:scared: i was implying a half hitch and a peg everything has its place and hardware will inrease the lifespan and reduce wear but knowing old/most basic methods is always useful Jamie
  24. When i bought my blaze at the APF the first thing i did was struggle one handed and cut the sleeve off JAmie
  25. do you have to knock the top off of a tree? how about (heaven forbid) natural crotch rigging. I know its frowned upon but its a useful skill to have the day someone decides to forget to pack teh shiny gear. Anyway. Well done Jamie
