  1. I've got a brenig smock and i quite like it Jamie
  2. your plan sounds similar to air layering, you can use moist sphagnum and wrap it in womething non porus, it develops roots, into the spagnum, not sure if it would 'heal' over Jamie
  3. If you get as far as Ullapool you should go to Applecross, it has a cracking pub, both times i've been to Applecross i've never made the pub.....don't know why. The Belach na Ba is the highest pass in the UK, some parts of it are a 1 in 5. cracking views from teh top. Plockton is a nice wee village too Jamie

    Alpkit

Like Alpkit, i got their tent pegs, the super strong red ones, can't mind their name, i've battered them in with rocks and they are yet to bend. i had to thread lock the tops on though. my flatmate has a pipedream 400 and likes it. good kit. I have brand loyalty to Tiso Jamie
  5. liked the tyre, i've always wanted to do that, so i'm off into the spare skidder tyre tomorrow:) like the bit with the kid on his back, wonder what would HSE think Jamie

I'm no gonna make it to the show, away with the good lady and i'm sorry to say but spending the day with you lot is a poor second to spending the day with her, sorry lads and lasses Jamie
  7. they want paid after they have been blessed to be able to work with me Jamie
  8. I like classic fm on sat and sunday mornings....Myleene Klass has a show:001_tt1:. Saturday i tend to get up early (not stay up anymore) to catch Anni nightengale. As i've grown up i have tended to start listening to a lot more classical music, i've always been very eclectic but now more so. Jamie
  9. I find when out with a group of ladies i have to have a healthy tolerance to 'girl talk', they just don't understand chainsaws:confused1: Jamie
  10. Jamie

    woodturning

tomorrow i'm going to take the number of a local turning group and give them a call. i've been forgetting for about 3 years now Jamie
  11. I got a doctors line saying that i'm allergic to working in the rain. it makes my skin go all cold and wet. I also have a doctors line saying i can't work if its too hot, my skin goes all hot and wet. Gender isn't an issue it's all dependent on apptitude..... Jamie
  12. what do i do. Climb trees, use a saw all day, drag branches. I rock climb once a week, boulder once a week, run try for twice a week and hopefully fit a cycle in there too and maybe a gym session or two. I used to get the train to the nearest station then cycle the last 4 miles to work then cycle the 18 miles home from work. I also used to do muai thai but i gave that up as making it there in time was a bit tight. I should be in great shape but i'm not. I agree with martyn, deadlifts and squats are great all over conditioners. most people get bad backs because they don't use them(in my opinion) . Use it or lose it Jamie
  13. my best tip, start off slow and build it up slowly. as you get better start aiming for longer or faster. i did a local 5k race one evening a few weeks back in 23.40 (my good lady did hers in 22.56) i'd rather be in the hills though, tougher and more enjoyable. try rock climbing thats tough and increases strength and balance no end Jamie
  14. Working for a large financial institution we had to submit our risk ass / method statment every time we work for them. it used to say 'a site safety officer will check the site.....'. we were picked up on the wording as none of us are qualified as site safety officers. I'd like to think that we'd pass. Jamie
  15. Oakley juliets, polarised and prescription. pricey but worth it i think Jamie

    CEClimb

hmmmm, not sure about this at all. I'm assuming it's safe because it's all be tested. terminations are stitched by machine and everyone is identical. I can see the industry moving this way as has been said before to cover the insurance companies arses Jamie

  18. just thought i'd tell ya so you knew:001_tt2: Jamie
  19. oi, i was about to say i had a decent kiwi pint for a change but i'll take that back. on topic now, bit messy dean welcome to the club. its good for those without scars to see what cam happen through complacency. every day i'm reminded of how one small shortcut can lead to a big problem Jamie
  20. does he know the 'proper' way to fell a tree? if not i'm assuming he felt that his way was the best way. he obviously had workd out his method statement. Felling big tree cut blocks from tree, eventually the tree will fall over. cut up tree and chuck in fire and stay warm. hopefully ruin grans christmas jumper the end it works for me. Jamie
  21. It wasn't this one was it? Jamie
  22. i had been using it in my rucksack and i forgot to take it out. i took my bag filled with all my bevvy. when we were chatting i rememberd and i found it useful for measuring her diameter at breast height:001_tongue: chicks love it Jamie
