  1. Chinese tractors? I don't know.... I worked for a forestry contracting company down near Alice Holt Research Station years ago. He bought a couple of forestry tractors from China......and we broke every one!
  2. Somehow, I don't think that I would own one if I was still in the UK!! Does the job though, probably one of the best trucks I've used for arb work. 12,000lb Warn winch comes in waayyy handy, and she can pull just shy of over 10,000lb. My dump trailer full of lumber basically.
  3. A few more pics for ya...and I dig your ride!
  4. I worked for The National Trust over at Gatton Park in Reigate, an area I'm sure you are familiar with.
  5. The pic in my avatar made my a little nervous too! Thought we were going over and then all the way to the bottom. Tumble dryer style!
  6. With a trailer??? NUTTER!!! I used to take my KX250 up there too. I do miss the Surrey countryside. And fyi...my Ram is scratched to buggery anyway, from scraping down narrow trails round here.
  7. Almost rolled my Landy down that chalk hill!! The trail that went accross Ranmore came out near Abinger, if I remember rightly. I would have loved to have taken my avatar pic truck on that trail.
  8. Hah! I knew you would know where those pics were taken Matt. A mate whom I spoke on the phone to in Cranleigh recently told me the same thing.
  9. I looked at Landy 90s over here. How expensive? And considering the last ones came over in 1997.
  10. I don't expect my guys to work in any weather that I wouldn't work in. I'm with Ed......done all that.Worked in the pissing rain in Cork, snow in Munich and gail force winds in New York. If my guys don't want to work due to shite weather I'm not one to push them. We'll sometimes go out in the rain in the morning, work until drenched, then knock off...depends on how much work we have and what type, takedowns, pruning, stump grinding etc.
  11. I miss my Landy...Pics from years ago down near Box Hill/Ranmore Common, for those that know it. And I know some on here do....
  12. I thought they did a pretty good job!
  13. Where's the tree located?
  14. $1500-$1800 a day here for a 2 man crew, bucket truck and chipper.
  15. ISA and TCIA.
  16. Check out the link on post #43 page 5....
  17. There's pics of my Ram Power Wagon at the start of this thread. I wish I had my Landy 90 back!
  18. Nice Dakota, I had a 4 door prior to getting my Ram. Weird seeing 'em over in England.
  19. The NYC parks dept. position looks very good (benefits are very important over here, health care etc.). I ran tree crews in NYC, whilst working for a big arb company prior to launching TTWM (doing street trees, residential trees and trees in Central Park). If anyone is serious about making the jump over the pond, I'd be happy to offer advice. Just make sure you bring some Special Brew with you. And it's still true, America IS the land of oppurtunities. Can't comment on Alaska, apart from to say, I've heard there's a shortage of women, but loads of weed!!
  20. Wow I feel old...
  21. There's a fence?

Shagged the bird serving the sarnie of course!
  23. Break into my house, mess with the 2 most important things in my life (ie. my wife and daughter) and the last thing you'll see is me, blowing your brains out...as they say round here, 'we DON'T dial 911'.
  24. Where abouts? Anywhere near NYC? If so, look me up..... I'm always on the lookout for decent tree guys, esp. ones that understand what the f*ck I'm goin' on about!! And I have guns....
