  1. I've had people call me up just to say how clever/amusing they find the name of my company, they didn't even want any work done, but you can be sure, when they do....... Company name and logo are IMO of the utmost importance. It's all about 'brand recognition'. When a prospective client wants tree work done, I want them seeing my logo in their mind's eye, ie. the Dr. 'listening' to the tree with the stethoscope, and to be calling me.
  2. Thanks man, alas I'm not the only one though. There's another TTWM back in the UK (down south somewhere) and one in Australia. From what I know I'm the only one Stateside.....and keeping it that way!
  3. A number of years ago some little sh*t stole the windscreen from my mother's Ford Fiesta outside my parents house. Took her a while to work it out after she got in the car!
  4. Agreed. People stealing your stuff around here is no where near as rife as back in the UK.....because around here you never know who you are gonna bump into, ie. Mr Winchester/Mossberg/Smith & Wesson!! I have kit in my shed here that I would never leave in a shed back where I grew up in Blighty. Sorry to hear about your misfortune though mate.
  5. Nice one Carl..........still not sure what to say now though!
  6. Google 'phytothora ramorum'.
  7. I have a Ramrod 905 with a Branch Manager grapple. Makes you wonder how you ever did big take downs without one, truly an invaluable piece of kit.
  8. Thanks for 'Golden Brown' Pete. Takes me back.......I seem to remember.
  9. Would be handy. We'll manage with the bucket truck and the winch on the front of my pick up truck though. I'll try and remember the camera...
  10. Oh dear........ looked at this first thing this morning, gonna tackle it tomorrow.
  11. Alright then, I double dare ya......
  12. Wow...let's all hear it for Dagmar!! That girl knows her history......and current events too.
  13. No complaints, great chipper.
  14. Purchased from Dalrymple?
  15. If Ed ain't jumping in here then I will. Here's a proper drum chipper.....IMHO of course. This 140hp CAT diesel 15" bad boy devours anything you care to chuck into it, mobile phones included!
  16. She was 16 when she wrote that particular song.
  17. Thanks Leon, you're right. The first is indeed a Bismarck palm and thanks for putting me straight on the second. I said they were ponytail palms 'apparently' as I only heard it from the mother in law (who planted them). I'd rather take your word for it!
  18. and me living the life....the trees in the background are pony tail palms....apparently.
  19. ID this anyone? I'll admit, I had to look it up. Pic taken down in Florida at the mother in law's place.
  20. Wicked pics there Ed, esp the ones showing the fire. Diggin' that Patrol of yours too mate.
  21. Because they've distorted what they are currently doing into the 'American way' that's why. Or what the 'American way' has come to signify.
  22. I know. And I have no real desire to 'try' Texas thankyou very much. The 'Bible Belt' has no appeal to an athiest philosophical anarchist such as myself. I've heard Texas described as 'America on steroids'. Considering I struggle with America and it's blinkered outlook on the rest of the world at the best of times.....And the level of news censoreship here?????
  23. The U.S. does have alot of good things to offer the rest of world.......it's just that at the moment the hateful far right Christian fundamentalists who are running this country into the ground have decided to offer us what Ed outlined in his last post. I worked for an old guy a few weeks ago who landed on both Iwo Jima and Okinawa.....I just happened to mention Bush and this old guy seriously flipped out, he actually spat on the floor. 'Don't talk to me about that arsehole....I didn't watch my friends die on those beaches so that son of a bitch can do what he's doing to my America'. And I know he's not alone in feeling like that. I've been here almost 7 years now.....and have yet to meet anybody who does have a good word to say about 'Dubya'. He has done almost irrepairable damage to the U.S. standing on the world stage. The direction that this great country is being taken in, is truly very, very frightening indeed. And what's even more frightening? The majority just lap it up.....
  24. ......and don't stare at the client's tits when you're talking to her.....well, don't get caught staring at them!
  25. Already there mate...
