spot on mate , that reminds me i need to get a cover for my side ax
  2. You need something like this mate Clay Spades - Excavator digging attachments its act like an ice-cream scoop. I'm sure a man of your skill and talent could whip something together blue peter style an a few hrs Or show of your angle grinding skills on another bucket. Other than that i would grade little bits at a time to loosen it up.
  3. I would see if you can get one made as i've noticed alot have got them missing, i'll keep an eye out as well as i'm looking at a few.
  4. It's even against the rules to change letters for swearing too There is also a big difference between cutting logs and felling trees.
  5. Looking nice Ben, did you get the lathe ??
  6. How much easier would it be to post pictures ??
  7. Is this any use, they cost about £20, i've got 3 different inserts for various lathes. Hallvalue Ltd t/a Poolewood Machinery Robery Sorby Patriot Chuck and Threaded Inserts
  8. Rob can you pm me a price list of what bits you have as i'm looking for a few suppliers, i'm looking into a new workshop at the mo so no rush.
  9. Giving woodturners a bad name huh (where not all old and retired woodturners you know). As everyone knows firewood prices are rising and demand is more, but things like woodturning wood, charcoal is not. So its a shame for me to say this but its probably worth more to you as firewood. I don't blame anyone for trying to get it cheap, especially when they say make me an offer . Some people ask for silly money and some are reasonable. The thing that gets me the most is travel as theres no one local so i add that into what i'll offer people, i'll even be going to exeter sometime this year to collect a load of dried blanks but thats due to a recent flood i've had.
  10. I might be persuaded to sell my myford ml8 if price is right
  11. Just take your time and listen if not sure ask, even if you only fell one tree in the day and that goes well. If your saw gets trapped or the tree goes the wrong way ask the instructor to explain why, get him to watch you and tell you what your doing wrong if anything. Don't let anyone rush you speed comes with time. You'll be fine just relax and enjoy what your doing

    Glee

That should be one of those secrets that you should take to your grave
  13. I've never used that make before but it looks a good lathe and got all the basics to start off with, I would see how easy it is to get any spares for it and extras as you would need some for the outboard turning.
  14. Have you got any info on norton norgrip and where do you get it from, allways like to try different stuff.
  15. I rarely climb now but i do hold a ms200t one handed i also cut and hold, i hold with my right and cut with my left. I think there should be some kind of training for it too.

  22. Have you pegged the diagonal piece on?? Very nice by the way
  23. I've seen pieces like that go for silly money for gardens, a mate of mine sold one a few years back for about £800 and it looked smaller than that.
