  1. Cheers Honey pm sent I'll look after it.
  2. Worth saving i think the pva is the cheaper option as does look like it will soak up quite abit. When i've got the time i might experiment on smaller bits of spongey wood.
  3. Whats the history of the bag Mick, just noticed a few stains at the bottom Is that white thing abit like a magic tree you hang in a car oh and is the lub a fresh pot.
  4. Sanding sealer is good but only on small pieces, A pva diluted mix is ok too 3part water to 1 part pva soak item in the mix over night and then let dry, Ronseal Wet Rot Hardener is another - The thinners used in the product is Acetone, and the rest of the ingredients are Ketone resins, used in many paint and varnish products. The product is not meant as a surface layer, it is meant to be absorbed into the wood so as the resins can strengthen the damaged timber. Only a few options but worth an experiment to see which one you prefere
  5. Leon is one of my favourites, Taken and the most recent one is law abiding citizen
  6. I use to have one of these for my lanyard i found it very useful, Ditty Bag : SherrillTree Tree Care Equipment I think John shutler had mine in the end

  8. Nice basic but beautiful, top job:thumbup1:
  9. Why make new when theres nothing wrong the old one ??
  10. Shave horses are a combination of vice and workbench, used for green woodworking. A foot-actuated clamp holds the work piece securely against pulling forces, especially as when shaped with a drawknife or spokeshave. As the name "horse" suggests, the worker sits astride the shave horse. The clamp is operated by the operator pressing their feet onto a treadle bar below. Fantastic work by the way Cracker
  11. I wish:biggrin:, no its a mate whos not long signed up here but is working away but got computer problems.
  12. Here you go, Recipe -- Birch Wine Don't blame me if it tastes like poooooo The syrup tastes nice tho but you need lots of sap to make it once cooked down.
  13. I name the wood Betty but does look like robinia to me when turned looks a mustard/ golden colour
  14. The turning tools 1. spindle gouge ( fingernail) 3/8 (10mm) 2. Spindle gouge 1/4 6mm 3. x3 scrapers 1/4 6mm The smaller of the kit is good for small work such as pen and small trinket boxes all gouges are robert sorby which is well made kit. Happy bidding
  15. Before you know it there will be lots of humping and loads of them running about, then comes the damage and there noisey buggers too. I've done one before i waited for perrmission as tree had tpo and even then i was limited to what i could do. So trap them and remove might be easier as squirrels will just take a bigger run up.
