I think it's right about washing them with the addition of some sort of oil - I seem to remember being told olive oil. I guess lanolin would be best as that is what you are trying to replce. we've still got some odds & ends .... http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Swanndri_Clothing_New_Zealand.html
  3. I won't make any claims about being best or otherwise but we do have an all leather, water resistant, Class 1 glove as well as the cheaper Class 0 http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Chainsaw_Gloves.html
  4. it might take a while but we can get arblite trousers made to virtually any size http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/arblite_chainsaw_clothing.html we can also get our new range in up to 48" waist http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/High_Visibility_Chainsaw_Trousers.html this just shows hi viz options but i will very soon be adding standard green range
  5. http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Bilsom_Ear_Plugs.html a few possibilities here
  6. i might be a bit biased but i believe our arblite des A trousers are the lightest http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/arblite_chainsaw_clothing.html#aXA_2fARBLITETRC_2eCAMO The camo version is proving very popular at the moment
  7. All safety boots and helmets (but NOT shoes or clothing) can be zero rated if purchased for own use. A company buying them to supply to employess should pay VAT. I think a lot of suppliers simplify this by charging people VAT if their registered. I must admit that our website automatically adds VAT but we do advise people to order by 'phone and then we can zero rate items
  8. hope you don't mind having a supplier in?!
  9. http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Safety_Harnesses_and_Accessories.html This might be of interest.
  10. yes! we sell to a lot of dealers. mostly the specialist items we import like Treemme boots, Steitz Secura footwear, arblite clothing, Rubig safety linch pins .......
  11. http://www.hse.gov.uk/vibration/hav/campaign/fabrication/warmclothing.htm I'd say that there's plenty of empirical evidence for the effectiveness of some av gloves etc but as with any hazard the first step should be to engineer it out!
  12. not everyone agrees with this sentiment. the HSE are loath to recommend them because they don't seem to be able to measure their effectiveness

We've sold thousands over the years. not much any more. few strange bits left if you're interested! http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Swanndri_Clothing_New_Zealand.html
  14. These FOX jackets are selling really well at the moment for us http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Lyngsoe_FOX_Microtex_Waterproof_Clothing.html
  15. both Kevlar and ballistic nylon have been used in the past but the modern protection relies on the pulling out of long fibres to clog the sprocket and stall the saw. manufacturers try to be a bit cagey about the exact make up but it's often 'nylon'! Our arblite lightweight protective material is 63% polypropylene / 32% polyester / 5% Kevlar but in a way this is as irrelevant as 'how many layers are there' - the point is does it work?! and is it wearable?
  16. Sorry! you just haven't got Rupe's cheek. I'm not really promising anything - Kong are a bit tight with samples! There are none of these new things in the country yet - could be in about 3 weeks. The new twin ascender will sell for something like £120.00 + VAT (which seems a lot!) Please let me know if you need prices on any other Kong items. We are going to be doing more in conjunction with the importers - that's High Places as mentioned in a previous post.
  17. ok Rupe - I'll be in touch as soon as I know more.
  18. We have got some Kong gear on our website. I'll look into the availability of any new stuff.
  19. The difference is we are not pretending to be something we are not!
  20. We'd be only too pleased to do this if tokaloch would like to reveal his secret identity and be clear about what he is trying to say about the arblite trousers. if you study tokaloch posts you'll see that they always promote the products in the SIP/Haix/Samson etc stable and knock anyone elses products given the chance!
  21. Thanks for that - now also available in camo.! http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/arblite_chainsaw_clothing.html#aXA_2fARBLITETRA
  22. very similar to gloves we stock in UK e.g. http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Mapa_Professionnel_Gloves.html http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Perfect_Fit_Gloves.html
  23. we sell a lot of the Steitz Secura Goretex safety boots http://www.sevsafe.co.uk/acatalog/Goretex_safety_boots.html
