  1. John Major mate. The clue is in the first line of the post.
  2. I never though I'd find myself agreeing with John Major. Mind, I am biased. I had no idea that the 'Honourable Society of Middle Temple' was a thing. 'The State We're In: 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h93AZirB7rA

  6. If you're splitting by hand then the Fiskars X27 is something to consider. It's relatively lightweight and will go through most things. You do have to keep an edge on it though.
  7. Chief Gammon Suspended from Twitter in Beheading Shocker: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/11/05/tech/steve-bannon-twitter-permanent-suspension/index.html
  8. It's rumoured that you have to prepare them, otherwise your body can't metabolise the muscimol. It's not a mushroom I've ever tripped on either.
  9. As said earlier in the thread, this is a cool opportunity to teach kids about fungi, about eating (or not eating) things they haven't identified and how they might identify them, and also about the associations they have with trees.

  14. Spanish inquisition would have been a bit lousy at the time. I think that fundamentalism is a problem across the board. Once you reach that state, there's no going back.
  15. Yet we sell guns and tacitly support the regime in Saudi Arabia.
  16. That's why we should invest more into the arts.
  17. I know three people out of twelve who are still in the tree game from when I finished my ND in 2005. If you're determined and reasonably fit, then crack on. You can always do something else if it doesn't work out. At least you'd have given it a go.
  18. I've scrapped with the black dog for decades. Tried allsorts, training, working, fighting, drinking. Raving helped in my twenties. The most important thing I found/find, is to keep doing things. Even if it's just emptying an ashtray. Depression isn't a joke, but there's always a tomorrow and it might just be better.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
