  1. Going to winch out the snapped one butt first up the hill, the other I'll probably anchor it back to a couple of trees up the bank and section it down. There is anther yew I might tie into, bit of a naff TIP but a good back up. might have to skip breakfast and think thin for that one.
  2. A few pics of 2 sycs I'm taking out next week. Not overly big but not in great condition. One is only held by the Yew beneath it, it was multi stemmed but one stem split off years back. The other has a nasty crack running up from the base. Sorry pics are crappy, from my phone.

  5. I live about 2 minutes walk from the Atkinson Vos yard. I'm still not tempted by a mob though.
  6. If you plank to 2" it'll shrink whilst drying and then by the time it is planed it'll be even thinner. Have you asked him what size planks he'd want once dry and planed?
  7. What are you going to use it for? Is that James parks tractor?

    hodge you muppet, just cos it had no needles on doesnt mean its dead!
  11. My brother was charging £120 a day for splitting logs when he was 14, that was 12 years ago. He got loads of work doing it on jobs where I had left logs and other tree surgeons were recommending him to customers as well. Don't sell yourself too cheap.
  12. She gets very spoilt, even more so now. She is absolutely amazing.
  13. Teddy James Davy. Weighs 7lb 9oz. He has hands like shovels. Will be a few years until he is grafting, I'm looking forward to spending as much time as possible with the little fella.

  23. What's the advantage of the GB bars? is it being milled for the punter or you keeping it?
