  1. Why are you dreamers so concerned about a body you'll never charge enough to ever afford, imo it would be far better if you spent your time investigating plywood prices.. heres a pic of the stamp of your adverage tree surgeons truck
  2. That must have been built a very very long time ago, I know for a fact they are 10k now...
  3. 10K for a body like that on a 7.5 ton truck, I know the owners of Tipmaster, they built me a body several years ago, they are expensive, but they do a great job, me I have a couple of men who build bodies for me, much , much , much cheaper!
  4. The thing is Matty, in 30 years your Dad has learnt a thing or two, a climber starting at 43, will be 73 by the time he learns as much as your old chap................
  5. My point exactly!
  6. Neither, its the paying the wages thats painfull! new ''older'' climbers just aren't a match for young whipper snippers, and time is money , however you look at it.....no doubt I'll cop flak for this post...
  7. Well I was stressed out for years, clients, staff, competition, finance, you name it! jacked the lot in last year, these days I do what I want when I want.......... Today I'm off fishing to my regular spot, the most unaccessible ''no key no access'' bit of shoreline on the East Anglian coast, I'll be there most probably on my own, with only the seals, birds and porpoises for company life's too short for stress....
  8. I've watched climbers who start at a late age, it's very painful to be brutally truthfull.............
  9. Thats the number 1 reason I jacked contracting in, you just couldn't get the staff, and all I could see was me slogging my guts out till i'm 60... Anyone who thinks running a tree firm is easy, cannot be doing it properly!
  10. Unless you buy two Grauvell 15' Duplicate Helical carbon rods with match tips, I never did tell my wife the real price lol but lets just say I never got much change from 1k..........
  11. Every businessman in the world wants that, if it were that easy!
  12. Nice fish Dave, heres a pic of my PB shore caught bass, 6lb 6oz, I caught it 2 weeks ago.......
  13. This is the stuff we should be using, I tried to get it on the chem list over here, shame I can't spare the 10k plus it takes, they use it right around the world, but we aren't allowed to use it here! Agri-Fos Fungicide If you do a google on Agrifos you'll see loads about this product and the treatment of various cankers...........
  14. dunno I've had scissor rams in the past, no problems here
  15. Not really mate, all pretty straight forward, as long as you read the forms properly and don't fudge the truth, if I can get an O license anyone can..
  16. Tacho exemption only applies, to restricted operaters, not exceeding a distance of 50 from the operating center..... though reading back on your post you know that..
  17. Friends of my Father came round my house one day, 2 VOSA roadside inspectors,I had a few questions relating to my own ''O'' license, I asked a question like the one above, they said , you can register a vehicle to whatever you want, but when we pull you over, if your not straight or you're trying to pull the wool, we'll either fine you or squash your motor or both! and that came from the horses mouth! The Iveco owner is an idiot, he'll find out the hard way,and good job!
  18. Congratulations, regards to mum as well................
  19. none they're rubbish!
  20. It beats me why people find the need to have a canine companion with them wherever they go, a very anti social activity IMO, the general public aren't all dog enthusiasts........
  21. I packed up last October again for the third time, both times before, I quit for over 5 years, the first time I quit, I stopped completely for 7 years, brother in-law started again after quitting for nearly ten years........ Saying all that , I will never start up again ever, to be honest after the first few weeks, I find giving up pretty easy, I was on 20 a day.. Best of luck Mark, mind over matter mate, mind over matter!
  22. I thought we were going to stop ripping to shreds peoples ''youtube'' videos?? how that firm works IMO is entirely up to the boss!
  23. You beat me to it, thats why you see expensive second hand cars in car yards with the number plate covered over... You lads do jump to conclusions fast! if that chipper is genuine, and I were the owner, I wouldn't be that chuffed reading this thread, a man is innocent until proven guilty..
  24. It's beyond me, maybe they'll give me a call and expect me to sort it out with my magic air-spade wand............
