  1. Ha, funny you should say that Rupe, I did exactly the same thing with YP, after being given the same bad advice... The 'advertising expert' that came to see me swore blind that taking out a half page ad would net me loads of business - absolute tosh. They repeatedly threatened court, but never went through with it.
  2. Close Butch. more like $150-160 £18k per annum in real money
  3. 5k is too much for a 625i. I have a soft spot for the litle vermeer, used one for years. But £5k? way way too much. I have a nice 2004 TP200 for the same money, 8 inch capacity, 50hp hatz, twinaxle chassis & turntable.
  4. Deans Right, I'm sick of this craphole cuntry, full of selfish, cut-throat and pig ignorant idiots. If the wifes family in Oz move back to NZ, we will hopefully go too. Need to make a few quid first, so within the next ten years I have to get my Arboricultural business cracking, and get my manufacturing business off the ground. So in 10 years, at 45 I want to retire to 2-3 days a week work, and hunt, fish, farm and garden the rest of my time - in a place with my nearest neighbour is at least a mile away.
  5. why 4 tonnes of dry poplar is much lighter of course...
  6. usually takes a while for it to come live with youtube...
  7. Mine- second pic with 4 tonnes of wet poplar in the back...
  8. We fit them on our grinders. Superb engine, masses of torque, runs really nice. The mouting bolt holes are different to the 27hp version though, and it is a bigger engine overall.
  9. Saturns Knives are made from Swedish Udderholme chipper knife steel, exactly the same as TW's knives. Van Deale chippers have Tungsten Carbide tipped knives.
  10. The Dolmar (makita) 7900 is an awsomely good saw...
  11. Ditto.
  12. Absolutely nothing wrong with them Rupe.
  13. Can I get on the list then?
  14. Mmm. suits you sir...
  15. Your wrong.
  16. We've been through this loads of times. I know of Pikeys I can totaly trust, I know of others who'd steal the steam off your piss. There are probably more non pikey theives than pikeys...
  17. Never ever cut my boots. Cut the back of my leg mildly (kickback) as a result of bad positioning, but that was 18 years ago, pre the ruling on PPE. never since (it hurts -A LOT!). I think the Peltzman effect is definately happening to the people who say they are cutting their boots and pants...
  18. And I assume this is decided on whether they cut n' hold or not...?
  19. My take is that 'heathland' was an artificial landscape caused by repeated browsing by cattle etc. It does not occur naturally, and we are loosing heathland due to natural seeding action from mainly birch and pine. How can it be FSC certified, unless it was a. established / planted b. managed c. once cleared, restocked
  20. Nice Pics Rupe. When rigging straight timber, try not to do this -
  21. 'Doing an Ed' Very Funny
  22. I think these are one of the most innovative little chippers available. Cracking machines. http://www.jobeau.eu/en/m500.asp
  23. I hate the multitip system, I think it lets them down cutting wise. Also the hydraulic drive saps a lot of Horsepower compared to belts. I have seen a 30hp Carlton out perform a predator 50. Lovely design on the predators though.
  24. Mr Ed

    Bad Payers!

That was the retainer over about 4 sites. Retainer is meant to be 5%, not 25%.. They owed me another £4k in cancelled night shifts. I could'nt afford the solicitors fees. He wanted £2k up front:sneaky2:
  25. You've not seen a big Carlto working then... Makes the predator look quite sad... [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MoErN9sLneQ&feature=related[/ame]
