  1. This one? http://www.jobeau.eu/en/b31_110.asp Its a neat design, almost identical to My design. IMO, the fabrication on it looks very weak, tiny bearings etc...
  2. I'd heard the same thing.

  4. Mr Ed

    Bad Payers!

HW martins never paid there bills properly on rail work. I ended up £16k out of pocket with them. And yes, the Blue machine is one of my problems...
  5. Thats Rotax Rob's saw. He's a regular over at the treehouse. I'll ask him to come over and give some detail.
  6. Go damn them all to hell the worthless scum! - sat in their warm offices with their salary's and their pathetic excuses an d 'oh you've missed the cheque run' and 'oh sorry there's been a change in procedure' or 'can you resend the invoice this ones lost' I swear I'm going to go seriously postal in the near future...! One major clients owes us from a job in March... If you hear of several shootings and bombings in accounts offices round the UK, thats me settling the score.
  7. Ah, thats different. It is in a particularly beautifull location.
  8. Gosh. You need a course on how to dismantle a tree?
  9. Thats hideous.
  10. 6 months. My wife has a brother living out there.
  11. Hope you got more work out of him than I did...
  12. Thread was started by a dealer... and I think a lot of valuable info can be passed on by dealers / manufacturers - provided it does'nt involve slagging off other machines.
  13. I'm not touchy, not my problem. Trouble is, as a manufacturer, we work hard on a board like this to remain impartial - wheras joe soap like yourself can run free with his opinions. one mans 'banter' is another mans insults.
  14. The reason (And this is just my opinion!) that Timberwolf have been so succesfull in the UK was their attention to detail in setting up a dealer network. The product when it came out was the best on the market, and at an affordable price. I think Mike gave a very balanced view on purchasing a chipper, and his reply on the points raised about schliesing were valid. I personally would far prefer a schliesing over a TW, but I think the differences between all the chippers on the market is very slim...
  15. I wonder about moving back to britain myself. In fact I was all lined up to go to Dublin, but decided as we (family) had been contracting in this area for so long, I'd continue the tradition. Whutta fool I was.... I have about 2-300 pictures here in a box. will try an get more scanned in.
  16. I think you started something Rupe... Here's a few scans of mine, from working in Brisbane. Last one is a pic of when I got back from Aus and set up on my own. I was SO proud driving that Landy...
  17. Flippin' heck tommy, that is AWSOME!!!
  18. Its good to see how many google searches are showing up as Arbtalk...
  19. Ok, In answer to the naysayers - 1. Ben is right - A Transit is great if your not bothered about being legal. 2. 2 transits is x2 insurance, x2 tax, x2 drivers, x2 fuel, x2 maintanence (clutches, brakes, engine etc), and x2 as likely to be pulled over for overloading. My 7.5 tonner was cheaper to buy than a Transit, and gets better MPG whilst fully loaded. 3. I defy anyone to get a transit into a spot that my Merc wont go into. In fact, with its superior steering lock and better ground clearance, I can probably get it into tighter spots. 4. if your using a transit to pull a chipper (even a 750kgs chipper!) these days, it should by law be fitted with a tachograph. 5. you need a hgv licence to drive one? Well last time I looked, you needed a CS ticket to operate a chainsaw, but no-one complains about that....
  20. Reckon they had'nt seen the blockdriver then...
  21. The second pair pictured look good. Martyn is right though, most of the european boots are overpriced crap. The Haix used to be great, but i've seen a lot of the later pairs fall apart in 1 season. The Pfanner boot is about teh most hardwearing / comfortable boot I've had, but its a bit clumpy.
  22. Pfanner tirol / air fighter or whatever they're called these days. If you like redwings you'll love 'em.
  23. Now go and fetch me a bucket of steam, some tartan paint and a new bubble for the spirit level.
  24. No, the infeed aperture between the rollers is 6x6". Using your measurement, I could claim my chipper has an infeed of 12 x 14"...
