  1. Two points, firstly IMO mass production cannot get the same detail these "hand finished" engines have. Secondly, but more to do with fact is emissions. These uprated, modified saws will not meet the various international requirements for new saws. In effect, they are "restricted" to meet such restraints, hence a lower powered unit than is possible.
  2. Scouring it will wear it away but there's a big differnce between electro galv and hot dip galv as far as thickness goes. The electro halfords type are very thin.

  5. Put some pics on here mate, you may get a bit more interest on the thread:thumbup1: Also, how many miles on it and is it single or double cab, 200tdi or 300tdi? Not looking for one, but the type of things I'd want to know if I was:thumbup:

Ok, Daniel I did only appologise for being rude earlier, no more. Seperately, I should not of called you a nutcase. It was a little strong, so I would like to appologise for that too. You still never listed the lies, untruths, and not sure if calling someone a nut case is hateful, but you obviously took it too heart, so Im sorry. However, Im going to take Stevies advice and say Merry Xmas Daniel, hope you have a good one:thumbup:

Rob, I asked Baniel in a genuine manner as my next response would have been to ask how he was to tell if the rope had been pulled beyond its safe working load (SWL). This obviously is a critical issue if there is an intension of using it again. The machine being used to pull was more than capable of breaking the rope so therefore was wondering what the future was for said rope.

Baniel, are you referring to me or Butch? If its me, i would like you to list the rabid lies, hateful comments, and untruths as I am curious. Likewise, if I have been rude to you, then I appologise.

  14. Brill Liam! Whenever I see any of your pics I feel like I want to find a smokey old village pub with a roaring fire, and sit down for a couple of jars with your Grandad. I'm sure he has many a tale to tell. He's a gem, learn as much as you can while you can.

A standard felling cut would have had the same "advantages" if aided by a wedge, BUT, woudn't have the "disadvantge" of variatins and unpredictability of step cutting! If we are to judge this proceedure on its merits of "trying different things to move the industry forward", it should be forgotten IMO. There are many more tried and tested, reliable and predictable ways of felling a stem than this one. It gets a:thumbdown: from me Im afraid.
  16. May I also point out that pine as a firewood will put many hardwoods to shame. Anyone ever burned any ginkgo?
  17. Nice one Ben, he looks a dood!
  18. Cheers Will, send me a PM with your address etc and I'll send the money:thumbup: Cheers for Boxhead starting the thread too, hope you are sorted with your longs also:thumbup1:
  19. Will have a look on the tube then, but who is Brett Domino? Guess we are all getting excited now, only half an hour to go to the final. Even Pete checked the thread out:001_tt2:
  20. Can you cope with the excitement of tonight? Will it be Stace or Shaun?
  21. Cheers David, I think there could be more to come, there's not much else going on around these parts at the moment!
