  1. I know many will applaud this statement from the new PM, but unfortunately, those who live by "what are my entitlements" and "what can I take" are the staunt Labourites. They will take some converting, and i dont believe a co-illition(sp) between Lib and Con will convince them to do so!
  2. Regardless whos in, whos out, with who, with whoever in their back pocket, a miracle is needed now. Time will tell.
  3. True, but i think it was an impossible task to sort that lot out in a couple of years! Apparently, Gordy has been lurking in politics since the early 1980's. Guess he reached his climax in the 2000's:001_huh:
  4. I really dont have any great interest in politics, or care who is in office, as i believe they are all as bad as each other, BUT; As much i dislike Brown, i believe the hole was already dug by Blair, and any successor to him was DOOMED!
  5. I was referring to the authorities. If they had it "sorted out", when you got pulled by plod or vosa they would be straight on the phone if "they" knew what they were doing! I went out of my way to ask advise of a traffic sergeant about an issue, to be later pulled by vosa and told i would be fined if i continued in that manner. Believe me, they have not got it sorted!
  6. In over 25 years that i know of, they havent sorted it so i would doubt it will be very soon:001_huh:
  7. Any more info on them, like CC's, runners/as seen etc? Any pics? Cheers, Pete.
  8. :scared: The title to this thread made me cringe David! I think Liam has it covered though, it may cost more now but it would certainly be best in the long run, if only peace of mind; Hope you get sorted and its not too stupid on the cheque book.
  9. Your opinion Squirt, not mine:001_tt2: Im sure Dean will put you right next time he sees you:lol:
  10. Depends if you bother with it:001_tongue:
  11. Cheers Rob, i can feel a days milling coming on next week now, even if its just to try that little tip!
  12. Sure Tom, but some people find the end of the cut can sometimes have a "drop" in it when the first bar of the mill goes over the end of the plank. Using a ladder each cut helps prevent this "drop". I dont bother, but i'm still a beginner so perhaps theres room for improvement:blushing:
  13. No, you maybe didnt bring LOLER into the discussion. BUT, you did say you didnt want to discuss it, then made the comment "this LOLER garbage". Do you really expect that would not provoke a response? What does "I wonder why.:sneaky2:" mean? Take a chill pill mate, it will probably do your sanity a lot of good:thumbup1:
  14. Based upon that comment alone, you obviously realised some of your practices and views were going to be challenged.
  15. As Peter says, but i would just add, to avoid the steep angle it would have been better witht he truck further away. I personally would have backed upto the trees in the background and anchored a sling around one of them and fastened it onto the towbar. Just a thought:thumbup1:
  16. Are you saying then, you know better than the LOLER tester? Seems a strange attitude when you are not qualified to make such judgements:confused1: I suppose it would be like a customer choosing someone unqualified to prune his trees and saying, "Oh, those guys who are qualified to do it dont know what they are doing" No wonder an insurance company would try and "wriggle out of it" with an attitude like that! Oh, and for what its worth, it is your obligation to check your kit every day and have written records every week.
  17. Ok, so could i put forawrd, that as Dean says, all clean, virgin timber and arisings are de-classified from being waste, provided it is going to be recycled. I think it would be a good idea to put forward that arb companies should apply for a free exemtion to carry green arisings. Within that, there to be a declaration that the applicant will not carry "waste", and if requested should be able to prove recycling facilties of virgin green arisings, or records of tipping at a recycling depot. If any operator was to take arising to landfill, the waste carriers license would still apply.
  18. As a result of the origional thread started by Bareroots "Waste transfer license", certain issues arose regarding Arbtalkers opinions on the current system that the EA have in place for handling "green waste". Following the offer from Paul (AA Teccie) to approach the EA with a proposal, i thought it would be best to start a seperate thread for people to add comments and suggestions for Paul to put forward. For those who missed out on the origional thread; http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/aa/15732-waste-transfer-licence.html Hope this simplifies it a little for you Paul, and many thanks for the offer:thumbup1:
  19. Thats about the idea i had Tom, i was thinking of the steel being long enough to go over two rungs with the hole half way along, but same difference:thumbup1:
  20. One other point i would add about hrs, a chipper with "higher" hrs on it may be considered detremental, but from an engines point of view, a chipper with low hours that has only done light work may have been started and stopped very regularly. Not the best way to treat any engine.
  21. Thats what i was getting at, 1000hrs on a JoBo is a different thing to a Vermeer or Jenson
  22. I realise all of you will be getting used to the new technique, but get your groundy to learn how to let it run! Only saw the first couple of minutes, but, the first couple of cuts you did on the vid, would have earned him a shouting at if i was in the tree!
