I can confirm this is absoloutly spot on the correct answer. On quotes, on site and on invoices refer to the works you are carrying out as Arboriculture and you will be fine.

I turned up with a forwarder load of round timber for firewood that i'd been promising this old guy for weeks. Starts unloading it onto the pile as per usual only to be told by his daughter 20 mins later that he died a week ago

Not being funny mate, BUT lol in another thread you are advertising your services for servicing and maintaining chippers. It doesn't inspire confidence in that service if you don't know where to go to get a 2nd hand chipper.... A quick internet search will pull up a fair few: Arborcut GA Masons Redwood JAS P Wilson Orange Plant Autotrader Etc. Beware cheap chippers as in these times it may be stolen...

Biomass chip for large scale heat and power installations isn't screened mate, it is walked out of the lorry straight into the fuel pit. Low quality chip we send to be screened and mixed with a higher wood percentage. However we wouldn't pay you for that. Chip upto 18 months old can be used for biomass.

If it's machinery I would much rather buy from someone who has used the kit and has an understanding of capibilities. To many salesman read of a spec sheet... Climbing equipment again it is far better to buy from someone who has experience of a product. Honey Brothers, Craig / Judge, Nod, Ed, all fall into this thread and I would be quite happy doing business with even if they were my competitors.

I was supposed to be in Cumbria again today but the guy i was meeting cancelled last night due to the snow.....office day today i guess !! Got to go out and get a battery charger for the bike and a headlamp bulb for the Disco later today. Had great fun in the lanes last night on the way back from the gym lol

There was just a wee dusting when i left Cannock this morning, 3-4" when i got back at 6" at home up on the Chase. -1 in my kitchen when i got home lol No drama's here everyone just getting on with it. Like Stu said you just drive slower, it's just the pussy wupped SE that's always falls apart when we have some real weather. I'm qualified to say that having lived there for 30 years lol !! I think alot of people just use it as a cop out not to go to work to be honest. It's the elderley that i feel sorry for as this type of weather just makes life even harder for them. Those that care for them can't get out / won't go out etc. We really do have a defeatist attitude in this country these days.
