  1. I used an angle grinder with a burr disc for this one, worked really well. Sent from my C6603 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. I got mine shortly after tommy from kodama in Japan and it's still going strong! I love it :-) I ground the heels off the cutters which helps. I'll be contacting you for another as a back up rob, and I'll probably buy a reel of chain.
  3. If only I had some spare money... I'd have it! I'll Contact you in a few months time...
  4. A friend is looking for a good source of dry hardwood in the deganwy area. Anyone know?
  5. Don't mill it! Give it to me! :-D
  6. I would only use aspen in new saws, and keep using it in them, as if you change to aspen after using regular fuel will clean all the carbon out of the pot resulting in gritty bits forming and scratching the pot... At least that's what my German friend tells me. On an average days Carving I get through 5-10 litres depending on which saws I'm using, so would get quite pricey! Guess I just need to make sure I charge appropriately! :-D
  7. Sounds like a cool idea :-) I go to some shows, mainly major comps. Apf is always a good one and the big one in the uk is the English open in Cheshire.
  8. Who is in this area who could deliver to my patents in law? They don't drive and aren't physically fit so in bags would be better than dumping, also no front garden and small alleyway so account for giving a bit of help!
  9. Great start :-) it's a difficult animal to do, I can send you pics of the one I just posted, same pose.
  10. Hate it when that happens... The Bar I mean... Pigeon pie sounds lovely though!
  11. Here's two wolves I carved for Erddig House in Wrexham, sweet chestnut, lovely and creamy to cut :-)
  12. See what you mean, the bark in the first image looks suspiciously ash like... Not heard of summer branch drop with ash before...
  13. There's nothing like kids for honesty! It's a foolproof way of seeing whether you did it right! Well done :-)
  14. Call Jackie Evans &associates credit control solutions... 07787372384 [email protected] Highly recommended :-)
  15. Anyone know a carver in darbyshire willing to carve some mushrooms in stumps? Not worth it for me as really busy and a small job for the distance...
  16. Yes still here. Just give us a call :-)
  17. I do like working there, although if I leave a sculpture out, it can get used as a scratching post... The Bull knocked a 3 ft wide by 8ft tall piece of oak over once... Thankfully it didn't trash anything!
  18. If I get enough wanting hell boy I may do that at the English open!!
  19. That's the reaction I want!! Love it!
  20. I may just carve him the next time I have a piece of redwood... :-)
  21. The Spider-Man carving from Apf last yr
  22. Amazing Si! Job Well done, been wanting to do something like that for ages.
  23. Thanks! It was commissioned by a friend. I wanted to carve him for ages, and my mate has a balcony overlooked by the big gothic church in the background... A few beers on the balcony later and the plan was made! Spider-Man and this are two of my fave pieces.
  24. Cheers guys! The arm was cut from the side of the base.
