  2. Probably so, the machine was brand new on the Case stand at SED two years ago this May so case probably have changed badges. The machine and shear are based at Derby Depot, very handy for river bank willows! It even has a hydraulic winch mounted on the machine to.
  3. You got a pm on the subject!
  4. How old is it then? It looks new from your pics! We have a tree shear on a 21 tonne long reach case at work. Very handy piece of kit just a shame its on a case!
  5. 13 tonne is a good size machine that one looks even better being zero tail swing and having the blade there are a few other manufacturers that could lern a thing or two there.
  6. Nice machine Ed what weight is it? I'm not familiar with Hitachi models.
  7. Well from a conservation point of view they are non native and English Nature or whatever they call them selves now don't like em! They are being dropped left right and centre in woodlands round here
  8. I want a jetboil, I wouldn't buy a kelly kettle and trust an employee to make a brew! there is little to go wrong with a jetboil.
  9. I agree stick with the 300tdi. I really wish my 200Tdi wasn't written off I prefer'd that to the 300. Interested to see how you get on with the pump.
  10. You are right that a HD 110 is avliable though I have only ever seen 1 secondhand 110 HD pick up for sale, they are rare. Not even the Hicap pickup is 3500kg as standard. Land Rover have only just realised its a a good idea to list the HD option on the standard spec list pre 07 110 defenders had to go through LRSV to get the HD option. There are lots of ex leccy board HD 110 hardtops about but converting to a standard pick up isn't easy as a lot will have been chopped away to accomadate shutters. so a conversion isn't really cost effective. A 130 is easier to convert to tipper/pick up and will go eveywhere that a working 110 will need to. You'll find on closer examination there is a bit more to a HD than just coil springs. The chassis is over plated like a 130 and it will also have a 130 clutch these are different to a 110 clutch they are bigger spindle (I know as some numpty fitter put the wrong clutch in mine)
  11. 110's are pointless as tippers for arb work, not only are they not beefed up they also have a lower Gross vehicle weight than the 130. A 130 Grosses 3500kg a 110 3050kg. What engine you had?
  12. As long as after he's painted it he doesn't stick a 357XP badge on it!
  13. we often work on CDM sites as part of our work, As daft as it is you wouldn't even have been allowed through the gates of one of those sites without having taken a CITB touch screen test in the last 2 years!
  14. We were taught to put your sink cut in then nick both sides of the tree about 1/4" deep sit two small twigs in each nic. Then when you come around the back you can line the bar up with the twigs. Its hard to explain by typing but hope you get the jist.
  15. Ben thats not the site near Shardlow is it? We worked on the flood bank not far fromm an explosives site. Whats access like? Stuart at DM has a contact with a very large Access platform thats avliable with operator by the day, may be worth giving him a buz?
  16. Cheers guys much appreciated
  17. I seem to remember reading somewhere that there are rules regarding carrying out excavation works near mature trees a customer of mine has a potential issue with a contractor digging near there trees. Am I imaginging it all? or can some one point me in the right direction, Ta
  18. Yep there are new rules coming in for profesional drivers of C & C+E Vehicles regarding driver development and refresher training. Details can be found most months in Trucking magazine I have worked for quite a few Local Government Organisations and they have all insisted on 3 year refresher courses for infrequent users and 5 year refreshers for frequent users of chainsaws.
  19. We had a job just before Christmas adjacent to a roundabout with the site entrance at such an obscure angle, it required the tractor and trailer to negotiate the roundabout the wrong way to reverse in. We negotiated with local plod before setting up the site We set out no less than 50 temporary signs every am warning motorists and pedestrians, set up footpath clousres/signed diversions the works. We had not one problem with motorists, but everyday we'd had pedestrians trying to walk around signs/herras fencing etc cos they were to lazy to walk around the diversion. it made the plant operators and banksmans jobs a nightmare we had it for a month:cussing:
  20. where abouts in the country are you?
  21. yes there is, i can't remember the name of the one I used to use, A lot of people will tell you galvanised steel can't be painted it can you just use etched primer.
  22. Yes they can! there are several round here that have been colour matched. You need a primer suitable for ally. I'd visit a spray shop if you want it to match your truck
