  1. Better get the 088 out for that baby!
  2. Bryanston School. Its still growing....
  3. Ewwww! What you two get up to in your own time is really nothing to do with this forum!
  4. Not a bit, I'm rubbish, and they still let me have a go!
  5. To be fair Steve that is a killer commute. By the time your tractor gets to the job, you would have just enough time to cut one branch, chip it, and drive home! I'd want 45k too, cause it would take you 6 months!
  6. If you got out of Manchester and still had 4 wheels on the disco you did well!
  7. Its easy to pass if you do what they tell you to do. If you have some chainsaw skills already, you wont struggle, except for ditching the bad habits......
  8. Whereabouts are you?
  9. Actually, what I normally do is take the top biner off my hitchclimber, put it through the splice eye, attach it to the loop on the throwbag, and pull the whole lot, pulley, hitch and all, through the crotch.
  10. I'v tried that calculation with my Manx, but I'm stumped.
  11. I have a loop in the end of my throwlines, this is used to girth hitch to the ring on the throwbag, and girth hitch onto the rope. This is then backed up with a few half hitches as per Rupes diagram.

    Ascenders

How many wraps/braids on the vt Carl? Only asking as I have seen someone use their standard DRDT 3/2 vt as a backup on an SRT ascent system. That kind of vt is completely useless as backup on a single line, you need to at least double the wraps/braids to hold all your weight on a single line.
  13. I have a 254, but the king of saws surely is the 020T?

    Ascenders

The problem with backing up double ascenders is, its time consuming, requires extra kit and a bit of thought, and since double ascenders are often used because they are easier than other methods, the backup often doesnt get done. A double ascender for arb use needs backup built in, or a foolproof system that simply doesnt fail in normal use. Even in SRT, open shelled ascenders are not ideal, due to twigs getting caught in the cam, and possible accidental opening in use.

Thats a jumbo sized can of worms you've got yourself! I presume you have a picture of a treemotion with two big spikes stuck through the back pad?
  16. Around £1600. You could always bring in a logsplitter, cut all the logs in 3' lengths, split and chip everything on site.
  17. Sorry Pete, I dont understand the spec for your lime reductions, can you express it as a percentage please?
  18. Are we talking full suit here, or would a tail and some fluffy ears do?
  19. Nice to hear some good news for a change!
  20. True. Perhaps a chicken suit then, or full plate armour....
  21. You mean i need to bring climbing kit?
  22. Give me ten minutes to light my pitchfork and im right behind you!
  23. Hopefully yes. I was more thinking along tweed lines. Plus fours, deerstalker and shooting stick.
  24. No need for ladders, just spike up the side!
  25. Fancy dress category?
