  1. Hi all, I'm based in Glasgow, happy to travel. I am NPTC trained and qualified, and have 4 years self-employed experience cutting trees, in domestic/urban arboriculture setting as well as forestry and peat bog restoration. I have held my climbing tickets (also NPCT) for 2 years. I have all my own PPE, a reliable chainsaw, climbing/rescue kit, chipper ticket, first aid at work, full clean UK driver's license, and my own transport. Open to any offers of work, please get in touch, distance is not a problem provided there's enough work for it to be worthwhile. Cheers! -Dru 07789621187
  2. GC Tree Services are looking to recruit the following staff: National Grid Surveyors & Cutters WPD Western Power Distribution Permissioners & Cutters Network Rail Cutters & COSS site wardens Excellent rates of pay All positions are based in & around the East & West Midlands areas. For further info please feel to call Chris on 07752 891288 Chriswood@gctreeservices.com
  3. Stihl Chain Parts, i.e. loose cutters, drive links and presets. Does anyone know how to find the information ? The Stihl online reference does not list chain parts, so I presume it's reserved for dealers, but the ones I have asked will not help, "Ohh I dont think they do that". I am making some custom chain for a sculpting tool and had to very carfully dis-assemble a length of chain for the parts......It took far too long to do it carfully enough, grinding tiny rivet heads etc. Please any help appreciated
  4. Its that time again - The East of England Cutters and Climbers Competition is upon us once more (and I'd only just suppressed the memories of last year). Gratefully sponsored once again by arbtalk.co.uk and arbjobs.com (amongst others!). Same old routine (more or less); book your place, get your tickets, turn up, climb a tree, cut one down, have a laugh and win some prizes. Same events as last year, except we're dropping the bar and chain change for a head to head pole climb. Cos everyone loves spikes!! Ha ha. We're looking at a simpler ranking system this year, with prizes for the top handful for each event but the big prizes going to the best all rounders who complete all three events. Due to financial stress we are regretfully charging £5 per event or £10 for all three. Competitors tickets are still free though! Post your questions and I'll do my best!

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
