  1. What no spikes?!
  2. Are you sure you've used it? It looks vair clean..............
  3. Matty, is your 36" 3/8s bar a husky? In the catalogue they only list 3/8s bars up to 28", so to go up to anything bigger would mean changing to .404, which might slow a 395 down a bit.
  4. Why not retrain the mink to eat parakeets, and kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
  5. Severed it at the base, but thankfully they didnt want it all stripped as well.
  6. Two ash reductions from today.

    next show ?

Capel Manor isnt a big show, if youre expecting harvesters and stuff you will be disappointed. If you want to buy climbing kit its ideal though.
  8. Hahaha! Perhaps we can all do out bit by wrecking some B&Q crap and then selling them some high quality replacements!
  9. Nice one. Great pics, thanks for posting.
  10. Sounds like fun.
  11. Sure I heard something years ago about autumn colour being better in dry conditions. Maybe its an old wives tale. Clearly you have never seen a Liquidambar, otherwise you would know it has alternate leaves as opposed to the pic which has opposite leaves..... Anyway, since it clearly isnt a tulip tree, i'm going with some kind of Acer.
  12. Well done, that is an excellent opportunity, I hope you do well!
  13. Lirodendron tulipifera? As to autumn colour, have you had a dry summer?
  14. A Disco 4? I was looking at one the other day at a game fair. They look good, but there are some good deals to be had on the last of the 3s.
  15. Those flowers are unmistakable. I used to have a really nice variegated one, got a bit frost damaged though.
  16. I knew it wasnt right as soon as I posted. Aralia was floating around at the back of my mind but I just couldnt quite grasp it!
  17. Yes.
  18. Pretty much all the service industries are contracted out now, the days of soldiers painting fences are long gone!
  19. Nandina?
  20. Ah, in that case I have worked with the gentleman in question and would also recommend him, although I havent known him quite as long as Andy!
  21. Does he drive a BMW?
  22. I dont know, when are you ever out cutting without a combi spanner? I find the quick release air filter cover on the 441 quite tricky to get off without a screwdriver anyway....

    Pop pollard

I managed to flatten a section of the low fence with a big lump of stem, second to last piece. One big section I rigged back into the garden from right out over the field missed the shed by millimetres too, groundie got a bit excited and let it go a bit too far! Other than that it was fairly incident free.

I like that idea. It was that windy, the chip would have just blown straight back to the yard!

I'm happy to report I didnt drag a single stick. Wheeled a few logs out on the sack barrow. It was quite tight to get that around the corner, let alone anything else. It would be a squeeze for a wheelie bin, for some reason they dont have them out here in the fens.
