  9. Wind has dropped right off here now but it was blowing hard for two days, I will await Monday when the council get back to work for any call outs.
  10. I would say a VT is temperamental, it's a hitch that needs constant attention, it's very different to a Blakes or a prussic that you can pretty much forget about once tied, also a self tending hitch requires a change of technique to what you are used to, I found it pretty odd at first but with Steve's help I quickly got used to it.
  11. Here are some pictures of different hitches on Kenny's site. Click Pictures for notes and enlarged views

  15. Welcome to the forum Giorgio fantastic job and video! Please post more pictures and videos from Italia!
  16. That's not a job, it's an adventure.
  17. Yesterday I was visiting friend in his work shop, he said a gypsy had come around about three weeks ago offering some large Stihl chainsaws for sale cheap as he was going back to Ireland that night. Funny, another friend had all his power tools stolen around the same time.
  18. Yup:biggrin: Proxy?
  19. Hahahaha...classic!
  20. Agreed but probably not in Dorset.
  21. How on earth did you manage to bend a gaff? I have a pair of pole gaffs for kliens, used once, you can have them for twenty quid.
  22. Despite my crap throwing when I worked for Rupe for a day I am usually pretty good with just advancing my climbing rope and I agree with Rupe about learning this technique before using a throw line, which I also never used for around the same number of years as him, actually I rarely use a throw line now, when I do climb a tree that warrants a throw line I break out the big shot.
  23. So cool you met Jerry! Rob has already been on to me saying I should go to Pittsburgh next year but I think I will be going to Oz for a wedding so may not be able to make the US trip.
  24. Ahh Suzie.
