  1. That looks like 9mm Boa?
  2. Andy, I have only ever seen small surface patches of rust on a galvanised lanyard and that was right at the ends where the cable is crimped, it was good condition apart from that but it was still failed. (Not by me)
  3. Thanks for posting the pictures, my Yale steel core has a different snap on the end, it's maybe four to five years old, yours looks alot older.
  4. When you post the pictures could you also tell us when the last LOLER inspection was done and if you could also tell us if there were any notes written about your lanyard on the inspection sheet? Thanks.
  5. I agree, I have only ever seen slight surface rust on a steel core lanyard, for one to rust to a point where it snaps into two pieces makes me think that perhaps the lanyard was very, very old, abused and shouldn't have been in use in the first place?
  6. Please post pictures as soon as you can of the steel core, how old was it, has it been subjected to a fall? So many questions, I use a Yale steel core myself, worrying.
  7. Nice Rupe. Some more.
  8. Hahaha, I was thinking...
  9. Why don't you make one?
  10. That looks plain ugly, setting a pulley from the ground is something I would normally do for the purpose of lifting rather than dropping loads onto
  11. Craigs correct, Kenny explains it here...TreeBuzz Board: Retreivable false crotch for rigging
  12. Monster Gum Craig. I have some more somewhere.
  13. Tum tee tum.
  14. Hmm, I will see what I can do about that:001_tongue:
  15. Post pics? What of the used Marlow Gecko eye splice? Bob, I gave up on it, I couldn't even get the core out of the stuff.
  16. Colin, I would rather do the French Foreign Legion assult coarse in the nude than try to splice used Marlow again.
  17. Thanks Bob, I was thinking out loud as I know some people replace the bridge as we have read, with different rope, I don't know of another rope that's the same spec and I would, if needed, replace the bridge with an original item although the one on mine shows little sign of wear really, maybe I should climb a little more. Can you tell me the name of the rope?
  18. A company I used to sub for would keep standard springs on the Landrover hoists they used, the drive was sloppy as hell but they kept them standard to prevent the chassis breaking.
  19. He's tiling my bathroom next week for free!
  20. Do you know David Roberts, aka Davepowys? He owes me some money.

  21. Nice Rich.
  22. Matty, do you ever put a tarp down to save the clear up? Nice work BTW.
  23. Paul, the spec is always treated as a guide, every tree is different as you know and they all lend themselves differently to the potential work you are planning to do. I was one of two climbers in that tree, my mate Stu in the tree with me and he's probably the best reducer/reshaper I know. Thanks very much for your comments.
  24. Bob, I was told that the bridge is made from dual core polyester/dyneema with a polyester sheath, wouldn't an equivalent rope be OK?
  25. I really enjoyed it apart from the gushing BS that some of the folk on the show were coming out with, the Mrs said, "You've been carving chunks like that and leaving them cluttering up the house for years, why aren't we rich?" Why indeed. The funny part is when he lost that big ball of Oak, could'nt get it out of the river so proclaimed it as living art! What a crock.
