  1. What? Throw pointy things across a room at a target, whilst consuming large amounts of alcohol, HSE would ban such an event instantly surely!!!! No outdoors is where its at these days. Anyway, I cant see an indoor event ever gaining international popularity, can you
  2. I think it would be good if we could have a basic range of clothing, with of course Steves consent to use the Arbtalk name, maybe sponsored by one of the industries big players? The sort of idea I have would be along the lines of this Tuatahi T-shirts, Singlets and Caps - Tuatahi Racing Axes and Saws - Quality Competition Equipment of the Highest Standard again any extra sales could help raise a percentage for the Childrens Trust as well. Ok this is just ideas popping out of my head right now, so its not a given.
  3. dave, its obvious, to most anyway. But take your pick, its either a) the waterproofness of the Clarks Cut and Climb jacket (very good product) b) the quality of the Weatherwriter (for those surveys out in the field when its doing the British weather) or maybe just the stupidity of a moderator standing out in the bleedin rain all day just so people coukd throw stuff at stuff
  4. Blimey that jacket looks awfully snug, must have been all that rain shrunk it!
  5. Yiu sayiing Im fat Mark? im just big boned and have a slight bias around the middle thats all
  6. Im really thinking about this right now, while its fresh and before I forget, but I think it will work. No Arbtalk Axeing at the APF this time, but i think it will give us time to sort out next year. If it works out it could be an annual event, which Id like to see now. Most important thing I think is I would like it to be a fun event as the rest of it is now, ok a little competitive but thats a given. Another idea I have is to encourage a team event maybe, companies competing as we had at the AA Show, great fun. But this is running before we're walking. Keep the ideas and thought rolling in
  7. It wasnt so much as a run up Mark, more a slip up and slide in the mud!!!
  8. I have thought about that Rich. One idea is that if you only attended one show, you could amass say e.g. 56pts, this would go into the league table, anpther person may take all seasons shows to accrue same no of points. like i say this is could run alongside the normal comp, so you could still participate in the usual comps anyway instead. Just ideas atm.
  9. Mudfest 2012. Well done Justin and all your lads, sterling job
  10. Know nothing about Transits, does it have an electric fob or key to unlock? Have you dropped the keys? If so the wee chip in the key may have become dislodged, in which case it wont work. You may be able to undo the key and reseat the chip, but do it over a sheet of white paper in case you drop it and lose it. It may not be obvious which way the chip seats....but Im afraid thats about as much as I can help.
  11. loser? Youre the one making a good name for yourself, ignore them
  12. Right, here goes. This is an idea for the more erm competitive amongst us , sorry you lot. 1. Arbtalk Axethrowers Forum? 2. Arbtalk Axethrowers championship league, points accrued across next years shows for the title of Axethrowing Champion 2013 with some sort of token trophy, to run alongside the fundraiser for Childrens Trust, all proceeds to the Trust. So, whos up for it? Do you think it will a) work and b) be fun? i think one prime rule should be that you must own your own throwing axe that meets Gransfors competition regs, so either a Gransfors or an Oschenkopf. Over to you guys, and Steve can we have a separate forum pleAse when you have time?
  13. As you can all tell, Im most like someone from El Salvador And i have a lower BMI than 62% of the population of this country for my age range  whut a lot of crap
  14. Its bleedin harmless now!!!
  15. Good to catch up with everyone i knew, and make acquaintances with lots of new folk from here and others. Thanks to you all for entering our little comp, it is the Childrens Trust that benefits 100% from the axe throwing and i know the girls from the Trust really appreciate our help every year. I know its a tough year for many, but these shows do need support if they are to survive into the future, it is business after all. Arbtalk is an ideal medium to keep up with the events, arrange to meet mates and of course chuck sharp pointy things. This show really seemed not to get the usual build up prior to the event that shows normally get. Was it the miserable weather? Or the financial misery? Or just one too many shows? Anyway, we have the APF coming up in September, this is the Big One...see you there?
  16. Good shoiw so far, weather actually broke out nice for most of yesterday. Dan Curtis won the axe yesterday on the axe throwing. Nice to see some of the Arbtalk regulars turn out, and thanks to everyone who turned up and had a go. Showers forecast for today, but if its like Friday it shouldn't be so bad. So pop along and take part.
  17. See you Saturday then Rich
  18. Yes all over for this year. There is a serious amount of money being lost on these cancellations. still at least we have Jones show to go to tomorrow instead
  19. See doesnt it make you appreciate the nice days all the more
  20. Seems like its all doom and gloom, dark clouds gathering over us again ready fortonight and into tomorrow.oh the joy
  21. Getting close now..i hope as many as possible are going to try and support this event, whatever the weather. Justin has had to overcome many setbacks to run this. Sooo its going to rain a little...been there done that last year, and no one melted then on recollection. We could even run a "who makes the best waterproof work joacket" competition alongside the axe throwing for extra merriment, or a "who can hold down the most gazebos is a storm" comp, not forgetting the "which team can drag the most teams thru the mud tug o war style" comp as well. The skys the limit, only held back by your imagination. All we need is somebody there now.
  22. Well you can guarantee that we will get some weather, you cant guarantee we will get a summer. and it is something to talk about.
  23. I meant you can work when its wet...in the dry... If it makes sense.
  24. Sour grapes? Just cos we have beautiful weather gonna pay for it over the next few days, so making hay while the sun shines.
  25. hey DRS, Im sure it reads like youre actually moaning because it isnt raining:001_rolleyes: just no pleasing some is there
