  1. I always ask if it can be cleaned beforehand as part of the H&S risk assessment. It's unhygienic, filthy and unnecessary for there to be a mess when you are employing people to come to your property. It's also downright rude. If you employ others, you have a duty of care for their health and safety, why add more risk than necessary onto the jobs. There is no excuse for it other than laziness on the property owners behalf. I hate dog turds.
  2. I'm working class, my wife and kids are working class. We have to work to keep fed clothed and roof over our heads. People use my service because they can afford to, poor cash strapped people cannot afford to employ me. Therefore I need wealthier people than myself to pay me. They are on the whole Middle class, they can afford not to work all the time. One or two are extremely wealthy, "old" money in the bank, and can choose whether or not to work, can choose to employ who they wish to do their work regardless of cost, they are the upper class. We have another class in this country, they are those who do not work, have no intention of working, and would rather beg borrow or steal to keep their house and family, they are the Gutter class. The country needs, working, middle and upper classes, it cannot afford the Gutter class.
  3. "You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft." Copied for the forum rules page, rules which each and every member agrees to follow when they signed up. This is the reason for the closure of the accounts held by Butler, and Matt Butler. As one another accuse each other of "Fraping" and there is no easy way to distinguish who is who when they mess each other accounts about, it left the Moderators with very little choice but to take action. I hope this clarifies the issue.
  4. Question: If this product is such a marketable fuel, and as good as it says on the tin, (and I'm not saying it's not) how come Aspen have not placed it successfully in the big outlets such as B&Q . Surely it should be the sort of product they'd love to stock, and their buyers would be attracted to? If someone such as B&Q were to stock it it would give it credibility to the general public, as it would be ideal for fuelled tools that generally sit in sheds for months at a time between use. I'd have also thought that the potential customer base would be far larger than one or two people buying it here and there at small garden machinery outlets (no offence to the small garden machinery outlets either )
  5. I have a slight confession to make . The wife was shopping in one of these shops women frequent, I was a little bored, so I wandered off to play with things on shelves. I found the bathroom scales. Now there are cheap scales, and there are dear scales. I tried the cheap £6.99 scales. The dial flew around to 16.5 stones. And stayed there! I shook them. I pressed them. I stood on them again to try and free them off. I put them back on the shelf and melted into the crowds again. I didn't buy any scales, I don't need to know any more.
  6. Can't advise on family issues, if it were my brother he would be held in a headlock and punched repeatedly until the message got through. Change your password to something he won't guess, if you really want to make the effort to stop him (which I seriously doubt). TBH I think you like the attention, both of you.
  7. Trouble is, with the best intentions, few people stick at these fads, be it diets, rowing machines, kettle bells or anything else. Personally, I have a dietician working on what's best for me, and my job. I have stated that I need to eat foods that give me plenty of energy, problem being I can no longer absorb the goodness from my food, so it's more of a management plan to get the best from my system. I have high calorie shakes to boost me, isotonics to keep salt and potassium levels up, but the downside is a bit of weight gain. Every time I see my dietician, the levels are changed, the advice is altered, it's never set in stone.
  8. That vid should be compulsory viewing for any one feeling down, absolutely fantastic
  9. See, I'm the same height as you and only 16.5 stone, positively skinny I think it's too easy to get hung up on weight issues, either too big or too small, not muscular enough or too muscular. I watched some programme where a body builder was winning trophies for his physique, but was unhappy because it wasn't "right" for him. I think it's far more important to have physical fitness over fretting about yor weight, you can be larger and fit, skinny and unfit. If you have any concerns about being what you see as over weight, see your GP for a medical check and proper advice, get help that suits you. Make sure you have no underlying issues that can cause weight loss, or gain. Being more aware a year or so ago might have saved me a world of trouble.
  10. My greatest achievement in 2012 was to get fit enough to be able to work properly again.
  11. Cheers, I really grateful for what I have now, hence my earlier comments. I do sympathise with those who aren't happy with their weight, either because they're under or over weight.
  12. Yes, had a gut ache, got filleted
  13. Hi. I underwent internal renovation and modernisation, to fine tune my body into a super efficient machine. I think everyone should go through this before 50, prepares you for the final run into retirement
  14. Had my Kelly out today too, put up a tarp in the woods to keep the kit dry and lit it up. Lovely, never had a more welcome sight as the steam rose from the spout. It was bloomin wet and chilly today, it's a beggar when you have to work faster just to keep warm!!
  15. I'm currently the heaviest I have ever been, ever! I'm now up to 16.5 stone, previous "best" was just over 15. I'm the happiest and most comfortable that I've ever been. I have more energy, more drive, more enthusiasm for my work, and the reserves to keep on going. Being skinny sucks big time, you have no energy reserves, no warm layer to keep out the cold, you actually waste even more energy keeping warm. I know, I've been skinny, didn't matter what I ate it just never went on the bones. I can't be bothered with worrying about the trivia of a little extra weight, or how many calories I've eaten today, life is really far too short for that nonsense.
  16. If you want something badly enough....you will achieve it. We can be supportive on here, but we can't get out there and do it for you. If this is a genuine plea, then post a pic of yourself (if your low self -esteem allows it) and then post yourself exercising, scales with the numbers dropping away week by week. Others shared with their quitting smoking, some succeeded, others stopped for a while, but it helps. Are you really obese, or just piled on a couple of pounds in your luxury penthouse, either way you want to get trim again, but one may be harder shift than the other.
  17. I got my life back, best pressie ever.
  18. It'd probably be a quieter Xmas with a load of crims about than my wife's family
  19. Well, I'm still on here, Xmas day too. Turkey stuffed and in the oven, veggies prepared, timers all set, presses opened. Chillaxing until the outlaws arrive and the festivities truly begin. Ho Ho Ho.
  20. Nice one Adam, and merry Xmas
  21. Yeah, and I couldn't have done it without the support of many others Right that's all the Chrimbo cheer and goodwill out of the way, can we get back to normal settings now please
  22. Slightly different, my Top Arbtalk influences, in no specific order 1) Dave D, for his determination to not let a little scratch hold him back 2) Tony Croft, whether I've agreed with his stance on things or not, he has made me look at fungi in a new light 3) Dave Humphries, his way of explaining things I previously had no interest in, means I have started to take notice. 4) Silky Fox, for his sheer grit and determination to get on his bike and make the world happen for him 5) Steve Bullman, for the formation of this forum, it's since had a big influence on me 6) Jon Mendiplogs, cos virtually every post has made me smile since he joined 7) Stevie Blair, for his "Stress" thread I know it's only 7.... But that's it.
  23. arbtalks top ten Xmas Humbugs in no particular order:.....
  24. I was talking to the guys at the local sewage processing plant, the system is way out of date with no real upgrading going on. It was built in the 60s with a projected increase in local population wildly miscalculated. So all the other infrastructure was improved upon as development took place...except the sewage works!!! We are now 40odd years on, antiquated systems, poor water management, filled in ditches with a hitch-pitch of blocked piping, acres of hard standing and built over water/flood meadows. Of course housing is going to get flooded out.
  25. I think, given the time of year, and the excessive levels of rainfall we're experiencing, any forum rules can be bent to accommodate.
