  1. i think threads like this are always amusing.....there are loads of tree officers visit this site on a regular basis......they may think twice about passing work over to some of the negatively posting members.....but thats your call to make
  2. im doing 3cube for £140, 3 cube of softwood £120, so not a huge reduction.
  3. its certainly not rare and it affects live trees. possibly the worst fungus that affects Ash. Daldinia concentrica is a common fungus on Ash which is saprophytic and grows on deadwood, perhaps this is where the confusion lays regarding that. Do you know what has led the tree officer to diagnose this without the evidence of brackets?
  4. i think those tracked units are all the same arent they? ive not used a tracked chipper before that has great ground clearance.
  5. im taking anything back to my yard nowadays. im turning away on average 2-3 calls a day for firewood at the moment...i dare say 50% of them would be happy to take dry leylandii if i had it.
  6. with regards firewood.....in reality anything will burn. if you go to some regions...one area in america springs to mind, thats pretty much the main wood availiable hence people think nothing about burning it. we have become too fussy in this country and people are going to have to accept all manner of wood in the future if the rate of people installing woodburners continues to increase as it has been
  7. i think this would be a good avenue for someone like yourself to explore. try getting a bit of experience then get your own little thing going. doing the nice climbing jobs yourself and get contract climbers in for the other parts while you concentrate on building a business. of course, the above would all be great if times werent like they are. you'll certainly be up against things at the moment.
  8. oh ok, didnt realize you had never posted a pic
  9. no, in actualy fact i was working on jonesies stand haha! i really should have been paying more attention
  10. i should have got a prize for climbing with a hangover and competing despite throwing up in my mouth at the foot of the tree seconds before my climb
  11. anyone used this? http://www.speedlinereuro.com/index.html
  12. i think so...i'll check in the mirror, may need to trim my beard

  13. btw, do you generally finish your cuts off with the silky or is that just so you can hold the camera with your free hand?
  14. Tim, you have a very unique editiing style that makes your videos a pleasure to watch. loved the part where the beech cord was just being dropped in front of the static camera.
  15. left the cable on for the fell beings as the trunk was split and unpredicable. had a tag line on aswell. did the felling cuts then backed the tractor up letting it go over nice and slowly
  16. This mornings job, Split Ash leaning into a Cedar. I decided that the Ash was probably pretty safe as it had rested in that position some time ago. We put a cable on the ash and tensioned it with the tractor to take some of the tension off to make my cutting easier.
  17. is it just me.....or at 3 minutes is he spiking up that tree with no lifeline? surely they dont spike up and then down again?
  18. well thats the last time i give money to the poppy appeal! no offence to you cerne....take all help you can, i would in your shoes. like others though i am just surprised that the money goes to this
  19. how does it cut on say an 18" diameter stem with a 12" bar compared to a 200t?
  20. justin, how many units have you sold so far and what has the feedback been like?? any common faults cropping up?
