  5. i used to frequent other forums which were predominantly american.....i started arbtalk as there was a gap there for the uk guys who seemed to shy away from the american forums.....it took off way better than i ever expected. my ambition was to peak at 400 members!
  6. thanks mate. i have an idea coming up later in the year that will enable anyone to contribute if they wish.....with rewards i might add
  7. well its a bit of an odd situation really. i keep trying to monetize the forum so that it will hopefully allow me to cut down contract climbing, but all im actually doing is creating more work on the forum! it will balance itself somewhere along the line im sure
  8. This has been on the cards for a long time now but having taken onboard comments in the other thread running regarding a catalogue of knots i've set the ball rolling and hopefully we shall have something nice and tidy up and running sometime in the next couple of months. Now is the time to put forward any suggestions of what you might like to see in said catologue. thanks
  9. good to hear mate, thats what its all about!
  10. no user input...thats what the forums would be for. anything that was put on this website as a definite guide would have to be researched information, not just someones take on a knot and their opinion...i think the reasons are pretty obvious why
  11. dagmar...you've got me curious what mailing lists you subscribe to:sneaky2:
  12. if im going to do it it will be done and researched properly, with video reference. i'd need some help with that.
  13. and with that change, you could buy mine, then you'll have 2!!
  14. they are ok for the money. i bought one but sold it as the lack of a wide angle lens wasnt so good. if you do another event like this let me know, i may be interested in sponsoring it by supplying a dvd quality helmet camera system that i will be stocking shortly
  15. what helmet camera setup are you using?
  16. yeah i dressed up in a pair of combats and a green t-shirt
  17. I got dragged to see The Cure last night at the O2 arena:scared1:
  18. yeah well like i said, its one of my favourite shows...mostly because it is smaller, not as busy, all the dealers have more time to talk....its a nice social event.
  19. is chris a member here? havent seen him in ages.
  20. well unless you are using a wirecore that im unfamilar with, even though you might cut the v.t, the eye on the flipline still isnt to fit through the krab/pulley....so you're still going to be stuck

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
