  7. ok only reason i asked was if they have just switched to that machine after using a timberwolf for instance, then they may have been expecting it to take large wood in as a timberwolf does, and they simply dont. we always used to cut anything big with a slanting cut to make it go through easier.

  24. Dear members and guests, I received this sad news yesterday and would like to share the official notice from Timberwolf along with my own personal message. "It is my sad duty to report the death of my business partner Alex Whyte. In late September 2008 Alex set off with a friend on his holiday of a lifetime driving down the east coast of America and then across through the musical south to Memphis. On the 4th October 2008 while queing to get in a bar Alex was pushed over hitting his head on the curb suffering a serious brain injury. Despite several brain operations in the USA and Addenbrookes in Cambridge and a valiant fight from Alex, he lost his fight for life on the 7th March 2009 - 5 months and 3 days after the accident. Alex is survived by his wife Liz and 5 year old daughter Emily. Not only was Alex my business partner, he was also a close friend and mentor; he will be sorely missed. Regards Richard Marshall Managing Director Timberwolf." I'm sure many of you here have had dealings with Alex in the past and i'm sure many of you were priveleged to be able to call him a friend. I had personally known Alex a little over a year but in that time feel we developed a very good relationship. Alex/Timberwolf were one of the first companies to support Arbtalk. Alex was a great help to me personally in the early days of Arbtalk, always on hand to offer advice and sometimes direction. Knowing his role with Timberwolf and how he probably had a thousand more important things to be doing, it always stood out to me how he would always answer or return my calls and emails promptly. I would often call Alex with, what looking back now, were really quite trivial matters/problems that I may have been facing on Arbtalk, be it member problems or general business issues. He always had a unique perspective on things that I would never have seen myself, and would often make what seemed like a huge crisis suddenly become quite irrelevant! I personally feel the loss of a good friend and also a much valued business confidant. My thoughts at this time go to his wife and daughter. Thanks Steve Alex seen below presenting the prize in the 2007 christmas charity raffle
