  1. i dont mind expanding on it, and creating sub forums if anyone feels the need for specific areas....fencing would be the obvious one that comes to mind
  2. i beg to differ....i just switched out private car to nfu as they were £30 cheaper than the competitors. insurance is a funny thing, one person could get a completely different quote from another for the exact same thing, there seems no consistency
  3. please note, as of now, all new posts in the off topic areas of the forum will not appear in the unread post feature. These will still be marked as unread, however you will need to manually view the off topic forums to view these posts. thanks:001_smile:
  4. at the f.r.jones show...see banner at top of page
  5. im sure justin will do you a deal on a toy one
  6. im just curious, one of the things i liked the most about the treeflex harness was the hexafoam back pad. just looking for feedback how well this is holding up for people and over what period of time? thanks
  7. simple answer really...if you're not happy dont work for them again....thats your privelege as a freelancer.....as it is their privelege to have their work done how they want it done
  8. i cant even begin to imagine that:scared1:
  9. ok. well thats a tough one then i guess. if the spec is to clear an obstruction which you know will make the tree look hideous but it has to be done then thats one thing....when it comes to reductions, shaping, i would personally choose my own points.
  10. your first post comes across kinda conflicting to me....you finished it, but you're not happy with it but they are...so how did you actually finish it, assuming that your definition of finishing a job is having done your final finishing cuts?? sorry if that doesnt make sense!!
  11. i'll thank you kindly for not using such foul language again on the forum!
  12. Ive used that same type for a few yrs.I prefer glasses but if its a hot and sweaty job and I dont want to fog up glasses or wear a visor,I use the flys eyes.I must admit that you look better in them than me. well i have a pair that yvonne sent me(pics to follow) and i must say that do what they say on the tin. In all honesty they wouldnt be my first choice for every day wear as they are not as comfortable as regular safety glasses, but they do stop pretty much 100% of the sawdust! they will stay in my kitbag and will definely come out on those windy days when the sawdust is blowing every which way, or on sycamores with sooty bark disease with those fine dust particles that penetrate just about everything! definetly a place for them in my kitbag thanks yvone
  13. my current bench is 15", the only blade ive used has been 12" bends can cause problems with a circular saw, you have to make sure you cut in the right place or you could find the wood being violently snagged away from you. same can be said for the chainsaw ones though i guess
  14. id go with chain...ive used both, own a chainsaw one. dont make the mistake of thinking its like a regular chainsaw...you're gonna have a tractor powering this one...they dont snag!!!! plus sides....safer IMO, lots quieter, easy to sharpen as you can do it yourself where as most people i know seem to get their circular saws sharpened professionally. negatives.....only major one i can think of is more waste, but that wouldnt deter me.
  15. and just to confirm, i meant the ip man clip, not breakdance!
  16. that video has actually inspired me to get off my arse and get into training again...i might take a look at a wing chun class, always fancied it for a change, and i love the look of the wooden dummy training
  17. Beech Chestnut Poplar Lime Oak
  18. Khriss....theres a different between slagging someone down and trying to help a relatively new climber.
