  1. Something all climbers are faced with eventually (except @Mick Dempsey who is hard as nails). You're doing the right thing looking ahead at your age though as many leave it too long. I personally moved on from climbing at the age of 40, but my body probably would preferred if it'd have got out a little bit before that. 32 was the age at which I peaked, after that it was steadily downhill...but we are all different (especially Mick). Have you considered transitioning to a larger company who may have more managerial roles? Theres several large companies, and some might even give you the opportunity to on the tools from time to time if you fancy it. Consultancy is certainly a route many choose to go down, but obviously theres not room for every single tree surgeon. Theres always ways of making yourself stand out from the crowd though. I take it you are specifically looking to move into another area of trees? For my part the only thing I do involving trees is Picus testing, which gets me out of the house the odd day or so. What other skills or interests do you have?
  2. There’s a complete and substantial range of stihl battery tools for the home market. They have their own smaller batteries which aren’t interchangeable with what we use
  3. Didn’t notice that. it was the rock that gave it away for me though
  4. Many people are still using Google Business websites as their primary website. These are basic websites powered by the information on your Google business profile. In March 2024 Google is discontinuing this service and all websites will be turned off permanently. Any customers visiting your site will redirected to your business profile instead. If this affects you perhaps nows the time to look at having your own professional website created, either a basic clone of your existing Google site, or a complete overhaul and fresh new look. We can off this service and will prioritise anyone worried about the March 2024 deadline. Please get in touch with my via pm or via phone on 07801 923740

  10. My first harness was a T22. I was a skinny little whippet back then that probably made it all the more uncomfortable. Coupled with muiltiplat it’s amazing I stuck the job out thinking about it. The youngsters these days have far too many luxuries 😀
  11. There is a donate button at the bottom of every listing where people can buy me a pint if they are happy with the service, it occassionally gets used by the odd grateful homeowner. i'm never going to be an alcoholic though.
  12. Sorry I should add, the point of this site is a resource and knowledgebase for tree surgeons. The tip site directory is just one small aspect of it that some homeowners are lucky enough to have benefited from. Occassionally some complain, not a lot I can do about that. I would of course gladly offer you a refund for the service.
  13. Yes is the answer to your question, many thousands of loads have been dropped. And in case its not obvious, the point of the site is for tree surgeons to find a site when they are in a fix. Its not an automatic entitlement on the homeowners part to receive free wood. Good luck for the future anyway.
