Other tree is different. Personally I think the tree will be fine, but only time will tell. In future only have your tree cleaned by professional tree cleaners.

What is your preferred method for driving through flood water? I was always taught to drive though slow in 1st gear and dipping the clutch if necessary to keep the revs up and exhaust clear. meanwhile there’s a guy preaching on our local Facebook group how the correct method is to drive through at a snails pace with the engine just ticking over. I questioned this in good faith, asking for a source, as the only information I could find on google backed up my knowledge and not his. I was ridiculed for listening to google rather than a mechanics with 25 years experience who had successfully driven through flood waters in his lowered bmw using his method 🙄 just happens that the ‘google’ links I trusted was from the likes of rac and aa, rather than Simon from Facebook who I don’t know from Adam.

Concerns about laying an older hedge

Just make sure you get someone in that knows what they are doing, I’ve seen some horrendous hedge laying in the past. Some sell it as an extra service while some are nothing short of artists. not an expert on hedge laying by any means but I believe when laying thicker stems there’s more likelihood of them snapping off when layed if not done right -

I’m in several local Facebook groups and this time of the year they are full of posts from people who have received letters for someone else. Next year I’m going to send out 10 Christmas cards to random addresses in the village but all addresses to Mr P Enis in the hopes someone’s stupid enough to post it online

You could try listing yourself as a tip site. It won’t be the high quality hardwood lengths that you’re necessarily after, but it might be free

We rent shelf space in our shop to a few local people. Its a recurring theme that they set up a website then don't understand when their stuff isn't flying off the shelves. Explaining to people that its just not as easy as that can be quite deflating for them.
