safety glasses that don't hurt when wearing ear defenders

hey folks managed to get a bit of chip in my eye today (was wearing a helmet/visor), happens every time I pick up a saw or hedge cutter. Happy to wear safety glasses under my visor but the pressure of the ear defenders against the legs causes discomfort after an hour or two. Has anyone a solution?:confused1:

Have you considered wearing ear buds or whatever they're called instead of the helmet mounted ear defenders?

Sympathise with you getting hit in the eye, my eyes seem to be chip magnets too, was looking at an overgrown laurel hedge yesterday that the owner wanted quoted for and managed to poke myself in the eye with a damn leaf

yeah the foam ear plugs would work, but when i'm working with other people like today (doing traffic duty for two guys topped some over hanging ash) it would be a pain taking off my gloves, removing plugs, communicating, re-fitting plugs, putting gloves back on every time someone wants to communicate
