Well folks,

Has anyone tried advertising with Facebook?

We are trying to increase our sales of split seasoned timber, as well as our wholesale site sales. To this end we have created a page for it. I have never had a Facebook page before. They seem to give several options for promoting your business, any experience of which one best suits our type of business?

Yes I have a Facebook page.

I post pictures of work I have done.

What I do to advertise it is.

Make a post,

Click on share at the bottom of the post,

Click on copy link.

Then just paste it into all the local buy and sell groups that you can.

I am a member of about 30.

I do all this with the Facebook pages and groups apps on my iPhone.

Hope this makes sense.

Good idea, does it bring much work in?

I think it is good secondary advertising. Not had many leads from it but people will often 'like' the page after they've used us. Maybe their friends see it, I dunno. Worth having a free profile, not sure about paid promotion on there.

I know people who say they get most their work from Facebook. I've tried paid adverts and posting on sales sites with limited success. Think there's a method involved I'm not quite clued up on to get decent results

As above, dont get loads of enquiries but had some decent jobs through it and doesnt cost owt, more enquiries than paying for an advert in local paper thats for sure.

Also it gives potential customers a little insight into the scale of your business
